Ngl pretty worrisome almost everything in terms of production of The Batman 2 Matt doesn’t even know 😬
ОтветитьIt is remarkable to me that this guy has been doing tnis for easily over a decade and still has no idea how to properly interview. Awkward, never any chemistry and asks fanbait questions he knows they can't answer. He ruined the Infinity War interviews as a result.
ОтветитьTHANK GOD FOR THIS MAN MATT REEVES THIS TRILOGY UNLESS SOMETHING GOES WRONG SHOULD BE AMAZING.
ОтветитьI love this man
ОтветитьWill never forgive Collider for their cancel attempt on Robert Burnette
ОтветитьThis mf decided that Oswald Cobblepot couldn't be a real person's name. He's also the same guy that gave Batman a wingsuit instead of gliding with the cape. If Batman isn't going to use his cape to glide, what's the point of having a cape? If someone is so ashamed of adapting a comic book, why even do it? For the money? I love Robert Pattinson, but I feel like he's not getting the material he deserves... just like Andrew Garfield. Don't fix what isn't broken, Oz Cobb in 'The Batman' is the same as Electro in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'.
ОтветитьThis interviewer is so weird
Ответить"Theres a clear path youre going down, its not like you're writing this as you go along"
How else do you write stories 😂
I feel like this is more of an interrogation than an interview
ОтветитьDark Knight is the best film about Batman but The Batman is the best Batman film
ОтветитьMajor respect to Matt Reeves dedication.
First 2 mins i agree 👏
holy shit. Colin is a force of nature.🐧✨
the penguin episode 1 felt seamless into The Batman film.
Mr. Freeze & court of owls Batman 2 👀🙏
I need to rewatch the pilot😭
ОтветитьI love this guy. What are the best interviews? It's so inside baseball and great for filmmakers alike
ОтветитьLet the ass licking begin!
ОтветитьKlute is a brilliantly acted movie.
ОтветитьSame composer for The Batman 2 please, yes <3 I'm so excited about this whole process btw and appreciate these early looks Collider while trying to stay patient... And I know it's such fanboy speak but The Penguin s01e01 was truly 5/5 and crazily intricate with that Sopranos feel, HOW is this universe so cool in every way and keeps on hitting like this? Anyway can't wait for everything future about it, see you there
ОтветитьAdding Pakula’s Klute to my watch list
ОтветитьI can’t believe how long part 2 is taking. Stupid strike.
Ответитьno politics just good writing, respects
Ответитьthey should just scrap the james gunn dc verse and let matt reeves handel it
ОтветитьYou guys making AWESOME interviews 👏 literally zee best !!!
ОтветитьReeves’ vision is a trilogy. Gunn is such a loser that he would rather halt production on the sequel and leech off Reeves’ success. It is so obvious that Gunn is plotting to bring Reeves’ batman into his shitty universe. Let Reeves finish his trilogy, and then introduce your new batman in the DCU Gunnorreah verse.
ОтветитьDC has The Penguin and Peacemaker. MCU Netflix has Luke Cage, Daredevil and The Punisher.
We also got Logan, Blade Trilogy, Deadpool Trilogy. Goddamn. Can we please get a hard-boiled TV-MA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series on Paramount plus, please!
Matt, Batman has already had realistic take, look at Christopher Nolan. It's okay to add some fantastical elements to your Batman trilogy.
ОтветитьThe Show is the Best comic book adaptation ever done , Matt Reeves is a Genius we need other spin offs about other villains .
Ответитьso is Reeves in charge of his own pocket of the DCU? or just a small pocket of batman ip?
ОтветитьMatt Reeves seems like a super sweet guy. It's funny that such an unassuming looking gentleman makes such gritty films.
ОтветитьDon't do the Imax. Matt is right about anamorphic, it's better.
Ответитьthe interviewer don’t gotta curse 😂
ОтветитьReally hope they’re able to repair Selina Kyle in part 2. Her whole white privilege motif really damages her character. Great tension and chemistry between her and Batman until that line. Complete buzz kill.
Ответитьlove the extra 5 minutes of nothingness at the end
ОтветитьI could watch Reeves’ Batman films for the rest of my life. Hope we at LEAST get the trilogy, if not more.
ОтветитьSeason 2!!!!!
ОтветитьThis interviewer's a weirdo.
ОтветитьIt’s quite incredible to think about how much more we as an audience are going to feel towards Oz/Penguin when we see him in Batman Part 2. What they’ve been able to do by positioning the Penguin series between the two films is such incredible layering. I feel wayyyy more connected to the Oz character now compared to anyone from the first film, simply because we’ve been able to spend more time with him. So excited to see how this all plays out. THIS is how you use comic book IP.
ОтветитьThis is the first time we have a Batman film franchise thats fully fleshed out in the mind of the creator. Kinda like a star wars, got or Lotr.
Very interesting and with huge potential.
Matt needs to make fight scenes longer for the sequel tho. The first one had a total of only 6 mintues of fight scenes. I mean a movie with The Batman deserves to have longer fight scenes.
ОтветитьInterviewer: (Questiom)
Reeves: I don’t know.
Viewer: I can’t wait for The Batman Part II.
Why do directors always want to make triologys? What’s so special about the number 3? Why limit yourself? This franchise could last many years if done right.
ОтветитьThis man understand Batman and the rogues gallery’s characters so much that we need a whole universe out of it.
ОтветитьI vote we give him the wolverine treatment and make him do this til he’s 90 😂😂
ОтветитьI want Matt Reeves to do a Elseworld Superman, Wonder Woman and JL of his POV. He really cares about each DC character and the Penguin series showed that.
ОтветитьMore spin offs
More films
More films spin offs
I want this to be a decade-long art arch
I would have loved to see Michael man directing
Ответитьbro created a masterpiece show im so fucking pumped for the batman 2
ОтветитьThe next one should be a Batman and Robin movie. The visuals keep the same tone, but the music is more mysterious, classic, and uplifting instead of eerie. Since this is during a good era, the golden years of the dynamic duo. So we start off immediately in the middle of winter in Gotham, thugs are transporting something in a semi-truck, we see it driving from the perspective of gargoyles above as the camera pans from right to left, then we see that one of them isn’t a gargoyle as a shadowy head turns with white eyes, but there’s no bat ears. Next, we see a shadow on the buildings beside the semi of a caped figure swinging from a rope and we hear a cape flapping in the wind.
The next scene is on Gotham harbor where the truck arrives. There’s a giant warehouse where the gangs meet to make a deal/trade. Robin cracks a campy joke from the dark and he makes an entrance by swinging from a rope and kicking two guys through a window. This is a younger Robin, only 15. He’s been Robin for 3 years. The music really hypes up his reveal. He disappears as they shoot in the direction they last saw him. Then he flings out from the side doing a massive roundoff into a corkscrew kick, sending a huge guy flying into some wooden crates. Robin swipe-kicks two other guys and they fall to the ground. Robin flips about 8 feet in the air and does a brutal Arkham takedown by slamming both his knees into the two thug’s heads, knocking them out. (He’s smaller/shorter, so he can do these kinds of things without killing them.) He throws a batarang that knocks a revolver out of a guy’s hand and the batarang actually returns to him just like the cartoons. The last ones try to call in backup, but no one answers, so they flee…
Robin chases the last two guys who manage to cause a pile of wooden crates to fall on him and they get away. We see outside that the sky has started to turn red now since it’s close to being morning. As they’re running away from the building and looking back, suddenly we see Batman do the classic landing from the intro of Batman: The animated series, in front of them. They halt to a stop. A hint of the original theme plays. We don’t yet see the full extent of Matt Reeves’ new Batsuit, it’s shadowy where he lands. Yet, we do see that the cowl now has white eyes as he scowls at the thugs and slowly rises up, he’s a bigger and broader Batman than we saw in the first movie.
(It would be great to see the full intro sequence of Batman: The Animated Series play out at this point, but realistically we can’t please just one specific fan base.)
Robin runs to the scene catching his breath, he sees Batman tightening the last knot as he stands up from the two men he just tied together. We see the newer Batsuit.
Grayson: “I had them.”
Batman doesn’t say anything or look at Grayson.
Grayson: “Well, we got all of them, piece of cake.”
Batman, who’s now facing Grayson, side points with his thumb.
Batman: “Did we?”
Robin looks and sees one last gangster running away from the direction of the warehouse.
Grayson: “Shoot!”
We now finally see from Batman’s perspective as Robin chases the last guy down. We see a side smirk on Batman’s face. The camera moves up to face the moon in the red sky and the scene transitions to Grayson in bed. Alfred turns on the light holding breakfast in a silver tray. Grayson groans.
Alfred: “I don’t think master Bruce would be very fond if you missed a third day of school in a week.”
We later see Grayson in School. He passes the gymnasium and sees a very attractive pale redhead girl on a high beam doing Gymnastics. (She can be portrayed as attractive since she’s of age) It’s clear Grayson has a crush on her, she’s a senior, 18. We learn that it’s Barbara Gordon and she gets picked up from school by Jim Gordon. We learn she was obviously adopted. We see a young Barabra Gordon talk at dinner with Jim about an exciting story of Batman. She gives Jim a kiss after dinner and runs to her room. We see a small place on her wall of newspapers of Batman and a few Batarangs stuck on a plywood in the corner. She even has one of his old capes. She picks it up and holds it while laying in her bed and kicking her feet and smells it. She clearly has a crush on Batman. She then calls her friend Ivy while looking at the cape to talk about school…
The rest of the movie is mostly grounded in Batman’s perspective with Robin tagging along as he tracts down and faces Mr. Freeze. Batman has balanced his nightlife with his persona as Bruce Wayne. He has shorter hair and is a more broader Batman. He’s the closest to being happy as he’ll ever be in this stage of his life. This is before Grayson leaves him, before Jason Todd dies, before the darker times.
Extra highlights in the movie not in order-
-Batman and Robin doing Arkham style combos and takedowns.
-Barbara makes her own Batsuit and we see her first appearance.
-Batman and Robin travel to Antarctica in the Batwing to find Mr. Freeze’s laboratory. Batman fights a polar bear.
-We see Robin have fun with learning how to interrogate the Penguin.
-Robin smiles and teases Batman after seeing Catwoman kiss him.
-A fancy party is held. The GCPD are present. Grayson dances with Barbara and Bruce dances with Selina Kyle.
-We see a long flashback to Robin’s origin story in the circus, etc. His parents dying when he was 8, Bruce and Alfred training him. Robin was actually excited to work with Batman.
-Robin confronts Batgirl. They argue at first, it turns into a back and forth fight/flirting as they agree to work together.
-Barbara develops a crush on Robin and updates her newspaper collection with him added to it.
-Barbara finds out Grayson is Robin near the end of the movie. She sneaks into Wayne manor and confronts Grayson in his room, they kiss.
Matt Reeves, you’re a fuckin gangster sir. I love this shit.
ОтветитьAfter listening to the interview, I can feel safe knowing this man gets Batman and his world to the core. The core concepts that make a good Batman story. Matt Reeves truly is fit to carry the mantle.
