this woman is the best
ОтветитьDang…woke = unsubscribed! I’m also Canadian, so sorry, NOT sorry. Reminiscent of my un-subbing from marques brownlee after he inserted a 5min blm rant into the middle of a 2020 iPhone review🤮
ОтветитьI'm seeing this video late so apologies for the late comment, but I think you bringing up the Reverso's history was really cool. I've seen the Reverso's polo history mentioned in other places but whitewashed of the colonial association. It also helps differentiate you as a unique voice in watches and got me to subscribe, fwiw.
ОтветитьTypo in the headline
ОтветитьMethinks James' may now be more beaten up than yours!
ОтветитьTank.
ОтветитьI was a big fan of yours until you came up with the woke colonialism thing. You disappointed me because I thought you were really intelligent and cool indeed but you show me that you're just another leftist zombie. No wonder why Canada is in this current situation. And for the word wanker, well, the British officials you've referred to were anything but wankers (both on the British and the Americanadian meanings)
ОтветитьIs your husband's tank the one that went through the washer and dryer?
ОтветитьI really enjoy your reviews but leave the politics off screen. Great work 👍👍👍
ОтветитьCan you at least bring up Rolex and Panerai's complicity during ww2 for aiding the not see's since you're going down that route.
ОтветитьLove the nuance
Ответитьgreat video- thx. My dilema as well...I hate large, skin penetrating crowns... so- reverso... or not...hmmmm. And... its not your accent weird... weird are all Brits
ОтветитьCartier is still underrated to me with watch peeps 🐥 okay with me as the prices aren’t outrageous still but they are going up. Love an under the radar watch
ОтветитьYou are such a fine Madame, love your humor and look.
You get my subscription!
Not even the title of your video is spelled correctly ... 8•(
ОтветитьWas drinking the tea a hint of another unsavory subject? India trading company and tea trade perhaps. Maybe not. The tea drink pause just got me wondering. You're brilliant.
ОтветитьI mean I be honest the Cartier just has better marketing, the name sounds better, its way more iconic, its pure an emotional thing, big names or idols like Ali, Alain Delon wore them and I get it😂
Ответитьwhat are your thoughts on the reverso one monoface with a diamond bezzle? the diamond is understated enough that you can wear it daily but the shape of the dial is way dressier than the classic reverso shape. can you make a video comparing the different JLC reversos?
ОтветитьLooks like the vintage Hamilton tank watch from the 1930s thru 1950s.
Hamilton was called the American Rolex .
I don’t get the comparison. Who is comparing a duo function watch to a single function watch?? Is anyone playing polo with a Tank? Let’s compare a Daytona to a Reverso next. Why? Why not we compared a Reverso to a Tank.
At least compare it to Tank Basculante. Come on. I can’t imagine — other than those on a budget— choosing between the two. Plus, primarily, JLC has Arabic dials whereas Tank primarily has Roman numerals. Very different. Anyway, both are great watches.
From a woke POV 😊… I’m certain Cartier has some skeletons like … whatever.
i love the cartier tank, but it costs more than my car! and my car even has a built in clock on the dashboard!
Ответитьhow does the carbechon fall off? i thought only it only happens to fakes? Not saying yours is fake, just curious. Plus, wouldn't people think yours would be fake(at the time of writing this) because the carbechon is missing?
ОтветитьGo woke and go broke 😂
ОтветитьUsed to see the movement through the back jlc then they cut back. To make more profits 😮
ОтветитьThe Cartier just oozes elegance. JLC seems gimmicky.
ОтветитьDear Britt Pearce,
I'm mixed race - Anglo-Chinese
I was born in Hong Kong and a child of Empire. I later proudly served as an officer in a Gurkha Regiment, which was part of the British Army and with roots in British India and Nepal.
I take issue with your childish Woke comments about Colonialism and Polo as played by British Army Officers in India. Your perspective is highly flawed, ignorant and offensive.
History is largely about Empires and you should not judge the past by the standards of today. Read more, talk less and don't be silly.
In WW2 the British in India with the Indian Army fought a long and bloody campaign to stop Imperial Japan from taking the Sub-continent for themselves and subjugating Indians to a fate far worse than being a British colony. Look up what happened in China, SE Asia, South Pacific etc. etc. conquered by the Japanese. Then check out what happened to local populations.
I grew up in a post-war British colony and was safe from the threat of Communism thanks to British and US military presence in SE Asia.
Final point, the British gave Indians their territory back along with independence. Have the American and Canadians done the same for the Indians (First Nations) of North America? Between yourselves you ethnically cleansed an entire continent - didn't you?
For a history illiterate to make a derogatory and flawed political comment whilst conducting a watch review is in very poor taste. Badly done.
Stick to watches.
WFH
It funny how everybody is concerned with the old history of the British empire, but it's not concerned with the current situation of France and Africa, ok maybe except Giorgia Meloni a repugnant right winger. Everybody agrees that the USA needed to give the Panama Canal Zone or UK Hong Kong but nobody talks about France's colony in South America. I am not a citizen of any of these imperialistic counties, but boy do the left and the right on Western countries have a galaxy-side bias.
ОтветитьI feel bad for jlc because they put in so much work for such little recognition
ОтветитьWow, if she downplays his wrist size, what else she downplays?
Ответитьthanks for admitting british colonialism in india, yes british have looted lot of wealth from india 😅
ОтветитьTank name and design came from a war machine, specifically created to kill people and destroy everything. Maybe not as ick or gross.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing the heritage of the Reverso. I personally like the Cartier for the design and wearability 😊
ОтветитьIf I win the lottery I’m getting both.
ОтветитьIf I may ask, does the Reverso scratch by flipping it on the backside and back?
ОтветитьIs she saying “out?”
ОтветитьThis looks like my dilemma. These two models. Tank LC v Duoface. I'm coming up to London this fall. Can you recommend shops for 2nd hand buyers? Thank so much Britt.
ОтветитьHi!! just wanted to let you know you accidentally spelt it as "Reveso" in the title
ОтветитьI love JLC and the Reverso, but my heart seriously skips a beat when I look at the Tank. There is just something about that design that is so perfect to me.
ОтветитьUnsubscribed.
ОтветитьA watch is just a watch and I doubt the relevance of the history connected to these items. It is just bizarre that a watch connected to people playing polo makes you uncomfortable but another watch connected to a war where 20 million people died does not.
ОтветитьYes, it's much better that one was inspired by a war machine, while the other was inspired by British wankers...lol
Ответитьif you compare a reverso to a tank, you should just buy a fossil and a call it a day...
Ответитьits unreasonable to buy a quartz JLC....
ОтветитьThe JLC has better everything and I argue even better design. ESPECIALLY duo face, I agree about the cheapest quartz model however any other one worth the price non the less. I love Cartier watches as well by the way but tank V reverse come on the watch makers watch maker stop playing!
ОтветитьGreat comparison video, think I'll go for the tank based on the silly reverso pricing.
ОтветитьI totally agree with your analysis. My partner and I have the tank quartz. Two watches cost maybe less than a one Reverso. By the way I just bought a beautiful Pasha C 2324 for 1900 euros 😍
Ответитьnice, what an amazing choice for a first (nice) watch
ОтветитьTanks blowing people up....I guess are ok with you......... Heaven forbid, any talk of colonization.
ОтветитьAs an Indian, reversos history is interesting to me.
ОтветитьBoth!
