Hey man you didn't have to wait so long. I would have hooked you up.
ОтветитьxStation is a great mod!
1 of 3 components needed for the Ultimate PS1, alongside PS1Digital and MemCard Pro
Intrigued by the GameShark application options...
🔴 Is it required to have a GameShark memory card and...
🔴 ... a (matched?) hardware parallel port add-on and, ...
🔴 ... if so, were there more than one version of the GameShark memory card to match with a version of GameShark software or [other factor(s)]?
🤔 It'd be interesting to know if XStation happened to support "custom music [playlist]" via emulating the ol' music CD swap after having loaded the game disc's map/stage/track into memory then automatically make the switch back to game disc when the map/stage/track is finished. ... I.e., the echo effects of tunnels can be heard applied to the CD music on the likes of, IIRC, at least one Wipeout title and that of R4: Ridge Racer Type 4. I don't recall a long list of titles supporting such a swap but hearing the music receiving the added level of immersion from the spatial acoustics applied in-game and delivered digitally in the quality of an HDMI connection from the PS1Digital would be a nice happenstance.
I wish the cheats where handle the way a hacked psp does with psp and ps1 game it be awesome!
ОтветитьXStation sounds like an adult TV channel lmao
ОтветитьYeah I own like two ps1's and a ps one.None of the disc drives work in any of them, Yet my older snes still works fine. All of those mid 90's to early 2000's disc drives were complete garbage. Just like with the original xbox, if you got one with the Samsung drive you were lucky, the Thompson drives were terrible.
Ответитьif i im correct the dc use stander pata ide bus so that why the speed is better
ОтветитьI remember you did the same thing with the 3DO the out the disc drive and replaced it with a ODE
ОтветитьAlthough not really something I would want, it's still extremely cool.
ОтветитьWhy did you call the Parallel port the Serial port?
ОтветитьToo bad you don't have the HDMI Mod too.
This would really make this PS1 endgane.
Adam it just basically does what a playstation classic does but a playstation classic is alot cheaper
ОтветитьIf you would've told my 11 year old self (when the PlayStation first came out) that I'll eventually be able to play ALL PS1 games on an SD card via ODE, I probably would've thought you were crazy. Love these types of modern upgrades to retro consoles!
ОтветитьHad a PSIO then I got my xstation/ps1 digital. I haven’t used my PSIO since.
Ответитьcool video
ОтветитьHey Adam, I’ve been telling people for years they need to do a Twisted Metal 2 “remake”. All these classic PS1 titles get remakes like Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, FFVII, etc… How does this title never get talked about? My favorite PS1 title ever, with Tomb Raider II. Your thoughts?
ОтветитьWant one but little expensive for a pre-modded one where i live, maybe in the future but for now i am still rocking with a chipped one and burned cd-r lol
ОтветитьNot into the ode thing but still watch them all bc it so interesting hearing you talk about them. I have 2 ps1 ones too and one of them work for sure. The other is boxed and better shape so keep it boxed. Maybe I should test it lol. Have you ever heard of a radio shack component switcher? I got it at salvation army for 3.49. It is an manual 4 in 1 switch. I love it. One day would like to get a gcomp 8 and 2 outputs but they are 240 dollars.
ОтветитьI was about to feel really special when you said that the PS wasn't well known, but also felt really old at the same time. I've always wanted the revision with RCA(composite) plugs in the back along side the Scart cable.
ОтветитьNice product but I would rather keep my disc drive. I went with PSIO cause of this. Does what x station does but I still have my drive.
ОтветитьOh now that is cool.
ОтветитьWhy PS1???? PS2 are dirt cheap and you can play PS2 games as well.
ОтветитьAwesome channel here dude. 👍
ОтветитьAt this day and age, and for the cost anyone would be better off with a mister. Both plays roms anyway, and no ps1 is damaged with cd drive ripped apart in the process.
ОтветитьDon’t do this destructive mod guys, the mister can already plays ps1 roms pretty well.
ОтветитьTo bad this doesn’t work with a Psone I love that model
ОтветитьAdam, I'm a Chicken!
ОтветитьHow is the average Joe with no soldering skill suppose to install this ? I’ve nevered soldered before in my life, is there a company that sells the ps with the xstation already installed?
ОтветитьI have two copies of the GameShark on official disc. The 1st one I bought needed the mem card to work. But that died and got lost at some point. The 2nd copy I purchased doesn't require the mem card at all.
ОтветитьGreat 👍 now I can save my PS1
ОтветитьI wish there was a way to have a nice menu for the games with boxart and a looping music track like with the Autobleem mod for PSClassic.
Ответитьits totally worth it to preserve the PlayStation game collection
ОтветитьDo you recommend any site to download games to put on the sd card?
ОтветитьIs the xstation compatible with music playback? if so, what file format do those files have to be? also, what is the maximum supported SD card capacity?
ОтветитьI have one installed in my dead launch SCPH- x100 model it's brought it back from the dead and I'm loving playing some of the PlayStation library I never owned as a kid and are very expensive to purchase now days
I will say as well incase someone doesn't know if you're installing this into a pal console it will run NTSC games but you need to use an RGB Scart cable to bypass the colour encoding if you use composite or S video the colours will be messed up that's just a limitation of the Pal PlayStation in can fixed by installing a mod but honestly if you're in the PAL region our CRTs supported RGB scart natively so I'd say just use that :)
Cha you know wut this to me sounds like a failure of optical drives vs solid state electronics. I mean sure in the nineties the optical drives of PlayStation consoles were reliable enough for the original PlayStation to reach 100 million lifetime sales but almost 30 years later optical drives are dying like flies while the cartridge slots in N64 consoles are carrying on just fine. And you don’t get disc rot with rom chips or flash memory.
Therefore I find it ironic that solid state storage is now saving PlayStation consoles with busted disc drives. But that aside I’m hoping a for parts only PS1 I got for ten bucks a few years ago only has a busted disc drive so that I can do this mod and turn it into something really cool
adam will this mod work on the slim PSone? the loading times on rpgs are killing my experience
ОтветитьWhat an awesome time for retro gaming. The xstation and mem card pro combo is just insane. 10 year old me wouldn't be able to comprehend how awesome this is. Definitely getting this.
ОтветитьOnly recently through thinking about things and all decided to get one of these, when I kind of was already fine with the PSIO but the more I looked into things, XStation seemed more appealing, more affordable too overall. I admit the PlayStation 1 I have, disc drive is fine, as was the Saturn I have... which I got the MODE for so, sure you can see the pattern here. Haven't got it yet but looking forward to it and you helped me with this video be more clear about how it all works and what to expect with it. I did find someone, maybe who you referred to even that offers for cost naturally a service to install it which yeah that's for me all the way so grateful for that too. Point is thank you for the video and being clear about its features really appreciate it.
ОтветитьWhere do i find the game files?
ОтветитьIt a Hardware Emulator Hybrid
ОтветитьDoes anyone know how to get a hold of the xstation at the moment. It's July 30th 2023 at the time I'm writing this and their website for the past couple of weeks shows nothing on the xstation.
ОтветитьWe have one for PS2 too :C
ОтветитьWhat format does the XStation recognize? I heard it can support multi bin files (for games like Pepsiman), which is awesome. Do you simply just create a folder and drop the bin and cue file in that for said respective game?
ОтветитьHad to come back for another question, so with the GameShark parallel port inserted, it automatically boots prior to booting whichever game you’re playing? Sorry if I’m wording this incorrectly or not making any sense lol
ОтветитьLittle bit of help (quite funny how I keep coming back to this video) okay so, I just got a GameShark (2.00, the gray looking tab device for the parallel port) and have tried to boot a Japanese exclusive game called Pepsiman. This game has about 7-8 bin files, I can’t remember the top of my head, however, when I enable cheats, the game crashes, so I don’t know whether its because the GameShark device I have isn’t compatible or it has something to do with the games having multiple bin files. If I try this on DuckStation though, it will obviously work, but as for the original hardware, I really don’t know what the problem is. Any help?
Ответитьi got my system today question does XStation supports 1tb sd memory sdxc?
Ответить🇧🇷
ОтветитьNeat device! Have you ran into any hiccups in your play testing either from regions or some games using CD audio as in game audio? Great video by the way! 😎
