I was wrong. Canelo lost a decision in Vegas vs a Russian. Bivol took the Kovalev blueprint and improved upon it. Also, Bivol is in his prime, unlike Kovalev, who also had to deal with a hydration clause and quick turn around from his previous fight.

What adjustments would canelo have to make to win the rematch

Hitting the left arm of Bivol was definitely a purposeful tactic--if you look at the broadcast, in the corner after one of the middle rounds eddy reynoso told Canelo to hit Bivol "Aqui," and tapped Canelo's left bicep.

That’s interesting to me that people thought GGG and canelos power wasn’t that far off. Maybe I’m basing it too much off of the eye test but the affect GGGs punches have makes me think he hits much harder. The size of opponents could be a big factor tho

They were prepared for the arm punching. But a principle I use is same side and opposite side counters. When your predictable and get the same side counter in which is hard to defend

He outpointed meaning he land more punches than Canelo. Canelo took a risk comming up in weight!!! Bivol didn't go down so stop with the crazy talk about schooling.

Things that Bivol did so well. Movement. He constantly made Canelo re-set before he could unload. Catch and shoot. The amount of times Bivol forced in his elbows down on Canelo's body shots before countering was phenomenal. It discourages the attack even if the counter isn't thrown. When Bivol unloaded on Canelo, he did it at distance using straight shots in clusters. Canelo was out of reach to counter and too flat footed to use lateral movement. Jab. Bivol used it to control distance so well, that Canelo had to resort to being a little reckless, just to get inside. It left him open and having to use energy just to get close enough to throw punches. Defense. Something that many fans don't realize is one of the four scoring criteria in boxing. Bivol was catching shots on arms and shoulders so uppercuts and roundhouse hooks were the only scoring shots Canelo could rely on. locking shots and rendering your opponents aggression INEFFECTIVE is essential to winning fights by outboxing your opponent. Good job by Bivol, and you could tell they really tried to take it from him when it wasn't that close at all.

All the Alvarez fanboys thought Alvarez is invincible he’d beat EVERYONE and never lose again. I gave all the fanboys some stick online before the Bivol fight about them saying he’d beat USYK!!!!! I laughed my head off and said that Usyk will annihilate him. I’m glad the overrated hype job got beat, I said Bivol will beat him clearly but thought he’d never get the winning decision. I’m glad the Judges saw sense and gave the win to him BUT those scores were miles off, 117/111 would have been the right result not 115/113.

I thought canelo was going to win. But yeah i was blinded but his last performances.
I knew bivol was going to be a hard fight , but holy it didnt seem balanced at all.
I dont think canelo can win against bivol, he would have to change massivily his approach, but i would love to see him trying to overcome the barrier.
