I vote keepimg the footprints.... it goes with the homestead feel.... fix the risers but keep the critter beans
ОтветитьYou guys sure go to a lot of work to paint and stain inside of your animal shelters. Phil was so funny suggesting whoever left the paw prints 🐾 stole his ladder. The stain looks darker because the wood has weathered and darkened. You need two rollers so you both could be staining. It would go twice as fast.
ОтветитьLooks really good. Maybe the squirrel also likes to climb the post. But of course only with dusty paws 😉
ОтветитьMarco polo the ladded
ОтветитьOh dear, I thought everyone is stirring a can of paint before they put paint on any surface. Usually the manufacturers mix their different colours and when standing, some 'ingredients' will fall to the bottom! ... So you must stir all cans, even white! That is how I was taught! Good luck and keep on painting!😮😊 The little footprints will always remind you of this bad episode! You will have to sleep over this decision and it is totally your decision! So sorry it ruined your hard and very creative work!😮 You have a lot of work to do, but you have enough drive and energy to finalise the jobs! Love your videos and ideas! 😮😊
ОтветитьLove to have animal updates weekly or more ♥️
ОтветитьKeep the prints!!!!!❤
ОтветитьPaint a sleeping raccoon where the footprints end…looks like coon tracks to me. I would leave them for a humorous story for guests.
ОтветитьI would leave it it's cute
ОтветитьIf that corner post is the only one darker when done, like your stair backs, customize it. White letters spelling your last name down the post.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing
ОтветитьYour wood is dark and the stain will look darker, paint would have gone to the correct colour you wanted. That's why you have to try colours on your wood to see what colour your finished product will be. I think it looks great!!
ОтветитьSo excited for you, the barn is going to be beautiful!
ОтветитьIf funds allow, purchase a small set of scaffolds or a platform ladder. No reaching to stain. Save your shoulders
ОтветитьPut on the roof! Lol
ОтветитьDifferent woods take stain differently. It looks fine, go with it.
ОтветитьHeres my theory on why your first post was darker than your second. I could be wrong but i know with stain oftentimes the pigment will settle to the bottom. Perhaps the pigment settled to the bottom in your tray and the roller just picked up so much of that pigment on the first go. By the time you got around the second one, just by using the stain it got mixed better. Just a thought, i could be wrong. Thats my theory.
ОтветитьI think the paw prints are so adorable ....makes it so one of a kind.
ОтветитьBeautiful lots of work
ОтветитьHello, that wood is weathered and dark grey, of course it won’t match.
ОтветитьShould have bleached the wood then stained
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьI would also leave the adorable footprints, so cute! The stain is on old wood, not new, that is why it is darker! Still pretty! It looks great now! The barn is going to be stunning! Can’t wait to see it finished!🥰🥰🥰🥰
ОтветитьThe post should have been power washed first before putting the stain on. It would have lightened the wood and the stain would have been the color you wanted
ОтветитьThank you❤🎉
ОтветитьEeeekkkkkk! So exciting !!!
ОтветитьMy cat finds you fascinating. He watches you whenever he hears you speak.
ОтветитьI think the horses should be next to each other because they've been next to each other since you got them . Just my thought, as you were showing us the layout. I'm sure you've thought it out perfectly, cause that's what you do.❤
ОтветитьPlease leave the white foot prints! It's so cute and tells a precious story on
your sweet homestead. ❤
If it was on new wood it would be orangey brown.
ОтветитьIs it because the wood is pressure treated, that causes the difference in coloring with the stain?
ОтветитьI think you have to wipe it off
ОтветитьQuestion? Why not spray the stain instead of rolling it? A garden pump sprayer or a paint sprayer. If minwax approves. Also, your thoughts on spraying the white paint instead of rolling it if that's possible. Love love love the barn build. It looks amazing!!
ОтветитьYour wood is weathered and aged from being outside. It is dry so it is drinking in the stain. That is why it looks so dark.
ОтветитьYou need a paint sprayer. You'd be done in an hour or two.
ОтветитьI love the footprints too!! I'm so excited about the barn-- London and Hudson will love their new home!! xxoo from Portland Oregon.🐾🐾
ОтветитьOh no! Unfortunately the wood has aged so the brush or roller doesn’t make a difference. When your new wood comes in, if any of that is going to be stained, it’ll be a different color because it hasn’t aged. Either way, you will make it look fabulous!!
Also, don’t let the already stained wood sit too long without a good coat of sealant on it. 🤟🏼💗💙💙💙
I can’t believe it’s been four years! 😮
ОтветитьYou two are killing me lol
ОтветитьI like it ❤❤❤❤alot
ОтветитьYou needed to put a mixture of half bleach half water to get your wood back to natural color, the weathered wood is why it turned out darker!
ОтветитьWait a minute, Phill just said brown is a nice color on dirt. I am cracking up right now. 😂🤣😂🤣
ОтветитьEnglish family, the barn is going to look so amazing. I love to colour block, and our last house was entirely black inside. I am loving the inspiration Elysia! Love from Jeddore NS~
ОтветитьOMG! Those are the cutest paw prints! I think you should leave them! Just fix the hand painting parts!
ОтветитьCan you make yourself a makeshift scaffolding by laying a board on the rungs between the two ladders that you can walk across and stain without having to climb up and down the ladder as much? Just a thought.
ОтветитьI would keep those little foot prints on everything except the splash marks on the risers, they are so cute
ОтветитьIt’s the color of the wood not the stain that is darker
ОтветитьITs aged wood and you are using a roller and aren't wiping anything off. It looks great though!
ОтветитьSand the first pole re do.
