Worst thing about the UK is that everything closes early 😂
ОтветитьFolks if you want quintessential England, go down to Dagenham 😂
ОтветитьI went to London in 2018 and was amazed at how good the public transportation system was. The Tube and the bus system were great. It was so easy to get around, I only had to use a taxi a couple of times while in London.
ОтветитьV&A - copies?
ОтветитьIt is expensive, though any city in Australia is a rival for cost of living, and not just for tourists.
ОтветитьI'm from London born and bred and my advice to all the tourists stay away from East London and some parts of South London Greenwich park is nice but just stay in all the main attractions but if you need help with anything just ask the people who work at the trains or tube stations their alot more friendlier and helpful than the Bus driver's they can be very abrupt and argumentative and don't have patients not all of them of course and it's very important that you take care of your belongings because theirs alot of pick pocketers about watch your back with street performers too and make sure you go to a proper souvenir shops aswell
ОтветитьBest thing about going to London is when you’re leaving London
Ответить"Londoners don't interact with others" as an american i am actually shocked that there are people that don't want to chat with foreigners lmao. I let myself be late to work once because I ran into an Italian and talked to a Nigerian expat for 2 hours in Walmart. Getting sick of tourists is understandable though
ОтветитьI am not shocked by anything you have stated.
Police don't have guns because unlike the USA, people are not savages and violent.
the thing shock me the most is london has alot of indian population, some west part of the london , its hard to find white english especially Southall Hounslow areas
ОтветитьYou’re 100% spot on about London. It’s a very international city and often regarded as the centre of the world or the world’s capital city. It attracts everyone rich and poor to its many micro towns. London is divided into 33 boroughs or towns each with its own local government and parliament and each borough sends at least two representatives to the national parliament - the House of Commons. Within each borough are mini boroughs or what used to be villages that grew over time to make up the borough and each village or district is very unique in its own right and has its own unique history, architecture, migration and settlement patterns, languages and cultural flavours. Immigrants often flock to areas where there are concentrations of people or institutions from their own backgrounds and where they might feel most comfortable living. So you have Jewish people concentrated in parts of East and North London, Turks and Kurds in North London, South Asians in East, west and south London and pockets of Black and Irish settlements across the city. Each London district is so different that emerging from the underground tube could feel as if you’ve just arrived in a different country with different people, architecture and cultures. London also has two great divides and they often meet at the centre and that is the great North London and South London divide. The great River Thames is the dividing line between North and South London. You either live north or south of the river and it is not often that the two meet unless you live in Richmond Upon Thames which transverses the river. Londoners are most conscious of this North-South division especially amongst native Londoners. Firstly, your geographic place of birth determines your London ethnicity and there are only 6 london ethnicities Central (including the City of London and the West End, North, North West, West,,South West, South East, and East End. your borough is your political identity and your district represents your tribal identity. These identities are taken very seriously by Londoners and even migrants to the city soon get ensconced in them the longer they live in the city and it determines their whole lifestyle eg how and where they shop, neighbourhood preference , their social and economic class division, the type and quality of education and housing that can be accessed for rent or to buy, how and where they choose to visit and socialise, who they can or will visit or not visit in terms of friends and family , sexual lifestyles, dating habits, your voting pattern and political and world view, religious outlook, health, age, fashion, cultural and eating habits. These factors taken together will determine your basic london personality I.e the type of Londoner you are and the lifestyle you enjoy is centred on the district that you choose to settle in permanently or temporarily. Incomers to London often very quickly discover the importance of paying attention to those factors because they can make o r break you as a Londoner and they will most definitely determine your level of happiness or depression and contentment in the city as a whole. Choosing to reside in the wrong london neighbourhood is often one of the key reasons for hating or leaving London. In my opinion it is of prime importance to the native and non native Londoner as it will determine the quality of life you enjoy and level of happiness you achieve in the city and ultimately where you feel you truly belong in the scheme of things.
Ответить……and stuff like that. :)
ОтветитьNot all pubs close at 11pm. There is no law anymore as to the opening hours of pubs and it depends on the location and if its in a residential area as to wether its last orders at 11pm. Enjoy.
ОтветитьI live in Tilbury, Essex; my local pub was built in 1667 . Daniel Defoe drank there, it,"s mentioned in Dickens.
ОтветитьIt's true museum prices are a joke. At least in Paris the last Sunday of the month all museums are free. Over 40% of people in London, were not born in the UK. Getting around can get very expensive, sometimes the tube stops are so close together that it's quicker (and cheaper) to walk. And don't try 'to do' London in one trip. It's massive.
ОтветитьI live in London city. I love my England. And these things are true. God bless you guys. 🙏
ОтветитьThe English drink a lot? Hardly a shock. 😃✌️
ОтветитьLondon is my favorite city, and I found all these things to be very true. The Tower of London is a must-see, and Notting Hill was the most fun neighborhood. The most amazing thing I saw in London was while biking through Hyde Park. I saw a bunch of horse trailers parked, and there was a large group of people with show horses all riding around in a big circle. Being a horse lover, I stopped the bike, parked myself on a park bench and just sat there mesmerized. It was like a dream, and I'll never forget that experience. If you haven't been to London, definitely put it on your list of places to see.
ОтветитьLondon gets 106 days of rain. The national average of america is 106 days of rain. Americans are ignorant.
ОтветитьUSA average = 106 rain days per year, receives 38 inches.
London England = 106 rain days per year, receives 22 inches. So 8.5 months out of the year have no rain. (1mm or more counts as a rain day). So you could get a very brief spot shower on a rain day with the rest of the day being fine, dry / & or sunny.
London & / England = much drier than than the USA on average.
How is possible i could not met Wolters before? Someone whom tell me?
ОтветитьGo to art galleries to see COPIES?? Perhaps you'll be shocked to know that all those paintings are ORIGINALS!!
ОтветитьHow does this metro system compare to New York or Paris? We have done both. I'm assuming we'll do fine with this metro system since we have done the other 2 fairly well with not much problems.
ОтветитьPfft, I hail from Ohio. Crazy precipitation is all that I know...
ОтветитьI have lived more than 10 years in UK - it is beautiful country except for weather. You did not drive I guess, roundabout driving requires a skill. British museum is the icon attraction. Good video!
ОтветитьOh cool! He ole Cheshire Cheese. Mine and my daughter’s favorite pub!
ОтветитьNo guns!that says it all!
ОтветитьBeing from NZ I wa snot shocked at Left hand traffic - however agree London is expensive and quite unfriendly. Upper class English look down at us "Colonials" especially if they are non white, so do not mind all the non British people there. Was scammed at an Indian restuarant run by Pakistanies. Weather similar to NZ as well, just cold. Loved the old buildings and agree, need to see real UK as well. Also find many of the stores are ripoffs like £5 for 100 grams of M and Ms.
ОтветитьWe like to try to stay organized........ Try.........
You should compliment our consistency if nothing else....
Another shocking thing is if you go to one of these chain coffee shops like Cafe Nero,Costa Costa Coffee etc.
Sometimes you'll see a dude just standing there and he will usually be wearing one of those arm band I.d badges.
I think this is a recent thing I've never noticed it before.
And I don't know if it's just a London thing I've not seen it anywhere else.
Please do share your thoughts.
Also sometimes you'll see them in fast food joints.
ОтветитьYeah, we don't charge you to see the stuff we've stolen from around the world 🤣
ОтветитьMain thing that shocked me was the electric fence around Buckingham palace. Really shocking...
ОтветитьBar staff tend to be Australian
ОтветитьHow do u get alcoholic drinks in England when ur not a citizen Bc in England U can’t get a drivers license without citizenship
ОтветитьMy dear, you don't have "High Tea" at 4 o'clock. "Afternoon Tea" is at 4pm and includes the small sandwiches and pastries expected. "High Tea" is a more substantial meal taken at 6pm generally by working people after a day in the mines or factories.
ОтветитьPubs do not close at 11pm at all. Some pubs may close at 11pm, some at midnight, some at 4am, some at 6am. Since the introduction of the licensing act 2003, the old fashioned justice licence and it's 11pm closing has gone. As has the old 20 minute drinking up rule.
ОтветитьAn Italian waitress, a Polish bartender? Checks date. oh, it's from 6 years ago.
ОтветитьWhen you have anxiety go to Woltersworld. Seriously! These videos are so therapeutic. They remind me of my time in Europe especially Prague.
ОтветитьThe Weather! Unless you come from some of the drier/desert states like California, Nevada, Arizona or Texas, you will find that your state has more rainy days and a lot more precipitation than London. Paris has more rainfall than London. Brussels, Amsterdam, most German cities have more rainfall than London. The west coast of the UK is wetter of course. All the damp air that is carried over the Atlantic gets dumped on the first land it encounters. That's why Ireland is so green. It's well watered. By the time they reach London though, most weather fronts have dried out, especially in summer. To decide if you need a raincoat or not - all you need do is consult the weather forecast on your hotel's television. Most days it won't rain. Even in winter.
ОтветитьJust got back from London. I'm native SoCal resident. I was shocked by: how very few natives I found speaking english (only taxi drivers), the shocking amount of coffee and pastry shops, at the lack of paper toilet seat covers, the push button low flow toilets, the confusing shower facets, lack of wash clothes, lack of reverse osmosis purified water, and lack of customer service. I loved my experience but yeah its a different world for sure.
ОтветитьThe one thing that shocked me visiting The UK is how respectful people are! Maybe I'm just used to the uncouth and ridiculous rudeness of most American cities, particularly my hometown LA, CA.
ОтветитьIt is not shocking that drivers drive on the other side of the road. Thanks for telling about visiting London. Am subscribed and did hit the like button.
ОтветитьThat last shock is definitely for the Americans.
Ответитьlondon for the sights and north england to see " england " .
ОтветитьI’m looking forward to tea time, we have planned everything around tea time. ❤️❤️
ОтветитьJust a word of warning, not all of the areas of London are safe for tourists even during the day. I guess it might not have existed when this was filmed. But, there is a great app for London public transport It's live and so it will tell you the best way to get somewhere right now.
ОтветитьLondon is the most expensive city I've ever been in. I'm leaving soon, and never coming back again. Although loving every second of it.
ОтветитьNot everything in London is expensive. Look around, if you visit in the Summer then take a look at university accomodation. Don't eat in places that are full of tourists do some research.
ОтветитьIt's not "high tea" it's afternoon tea if it's cakes and scones. High tea is a full meal.
Ответить
