At this point, the top half of the conference (regardless of which one) should only schedule the bottom half, and their out of conference should be G5 teams. The committee has shown they love record and couldn’t care less about strength of schedule. The lone exception is FSU last year. The picks are laughable.
ОтветитьAsk UGA fans how they feel about their only loss in the SEC Championship game by 3 points last year. dropped 5 spots… yeah we were punished but no one cared then.
ОтветитьExactly what happened to UGA last year, when they were 13-1 and lost to Bama 27-24 and got left out the playoffs. Even though it was their first loss, they got punished for playing in it.
ОтветитьSo are far as conference championship games go by your logic if Miami and SMU both make it to the game with one loss both should be in the playoffs no matter what happens and who wins.. or does your logic only apply to certain conferences?
ОтветитьJosh im tired of not hearing about army what happens if they beat ND are they now in? Undefeated service school look like IU to me and I'm a UGA fan
Ответитьi'm a UGA fan and i'd hate for the bulldogs to be in the SEC title game. 2 loss georgia is in. 3 loss georgia is out, even if that third loss is in the SEC championship game. shouldn't be but i think it will be. let alabama lose in the championship game instead!
ОтветитьAfter last year's snub of 13-0 Florida State, you expect fairness? Of course the committee should evaluate on field performance, even in conference championship games.
ОтветитьNo credibility. Not legitimate
ОтветитьAfter last year Texas j shouldn’t play ewers against a and m and they’ll get in bc they were without their qb
ОтветитьThank you for being consistent and calling out Texas. Sec dickriders would never
ОтветитьMight as well give a 4 loss SEC team in the playoff, they have a high SoS
ОтветитьTotally agree with you. And no one is more surprised then me. Conference champions shouldn’t automatically be ranked in the top 4 and get a bye. AND I also agree that if Texas loses to A&M they should drop dramatically. What world am I in where I agree with this Homer. Lol😂
ОтветитьOk the stars aligned again. To now say the loser of the conference championship game shouldn’t be “punished” if they lose, is ridiculous. No offense. Why even play the game if its meaningless. Why play it if it’s not another metric. For example. If A&M wins against Texas then I think because of the head to head win that Georgia has over Texas, the championship will be against number 15 and number 10 ranked teams in the rankings. The loser of that game still gets in, even if the score is 48-6????????? Come on man. Just when I think I should “subscribe and like” you show me I shouldn’t.
ОтветитьThe difference is Boise St played NM St, Nevada, UNLV ect. Indiana beat Nebraska who is 1 of 2 Ls on Colorado's resume. 5-7 of these mid B1G teams could win the Big12 or would be near the top of the ACC. Back in the day they said the SEC was the best because they were the most top heavy conference with Bama, LSU, Auburn or UGA any given the year, now that there's no definite big dog it's they have the overall best talent. You can't keep changing the goal post. SEC has some bad out of conference Ls and some of the top teams lose to or struggle with mid to sorry SEC teams. Vandy loss to Ga St!! I don't wanna hear how legit they are. If a likely 6-6 Vandy can beat Bama so can an 11-1 Indy!
ОтветитьTexas' game control-- and i don't have a number created by espn or anybody-- but the number has to be off the charts. they lost 1, but they've never been really threatened by anybody else. don't give me vandy-- that game was never in doubt, and was painfully close to being a 35 point game
ОтветитьSEC getting cold is what this is designed for. ANYBODY looks good in FL or TX, It is when the rain, snow, mud, or fog shows up, that we see who is the REAL champion. Let the "palm tree" teams whine because they know they cant play in the cold.
ОтветитьBoise took Oregon to the brink, I am okay if they get a bye.
ОтветитьWhat about if Clemson loses to South Carolina and then gets in as a bye for winning the ACC? 10-3 Clemson getting a bye in the playoff while 9-3 South Carolina gets left in the cold
ОтветитьKanell is FSU that explains everything,,,
AllAboutTheU 🏈🙌
You’re a loser
ОтветитьDoes this guy not know Indiana is 10-0 🤡😂
ОтветитьCan we just isolate the SEC. I’m a huge SEC fan. I rather have a college football playoff with just SEC school. That will be more entertaining. The big 10, big 12 and ACC can go do whatever they want. I don’t care. SEC the king of college football, that’s just facts🤷♂️ they should just let the SEC do their own thing.
ОтветитьIf Indiana loses, I think Tennessee will get in over them.
ОтветитьSo, my only qualm with the Indiana take, they have been DOMINATING teams in the Big 10. I also think you cannot eliminate teams because you don't know what's going to happen in the rest of the country. Usually your takes are pretty well thought through, so I can't believe you missed these facts.
ОтветитьOhio State should not even be in the top 15. Marshmallow schedule!!
ОтветитьPlaying Wofford, Nichols State, McNeese, Wofford, UTEP and Samford in November is not very "elite". Its a pathetic joke.
ОтветитьIf a 3 loss Alabama that loss in championship gets in over a 2 loss Vols team then that will be a problem too. Hell it’s a problem they are getting in with 2 losses.
ОтветитьRemember when Boise lost by 3 to Oregon? I'd be in for an Ohio state Boise game
ОтветитьWhat are Penn State's best two losses? Ohio State and what's the other?
ОтветитьIf the SEC really is that league then they shouldn't be afraid to go play Penn state. Or maybe it's not that they're that guy but they want everyone to give it to them without earning it.
ОтветитьAs a Nole… Love seeing this whole CFP debate being exposed for what it really is. It’s all about Money! Screw Disney and Fox. They have ruined college football.
ОтветитьIf Indiana wins, Ohio State should be removed from the play off conversation
ОтветитьDoes Danny kanell not realize that four Big Ten teams will be in it
ОтветитьDanny kanell is a idiot
ОтветитьIf Indiana beats Ohio state will Ohio State fall out of the playoffs
ОтветитьTexas will be in with 2 losses with brand name only. Sec fans will regret them joining. Big money influence . They got bitched slapped by uga at home with the qb having 3 turnovers
ОтветитьThey needs to do a SEC vs Big Ten schedule. This is how the schedule should look for them:
2 FCS teams
5 Big Ten teams
5 SEC teams
You are such an Indiana hater
ОтветитьTexas can’t help their schedule! Beating multiple top 25 teams, and it’s not our fault these teams shat the bed! Texas just gets it done. Ugly or pretty they would hammer Boise State and Colorado. Not our fault for scheduling!
ОтветитьDanny wears pink panties, all FSU football dudettes do!
ОтветитьHere's my issue with the concept of "didn't beat anyone"-How many somebodies are out there? In my view it's a constantly shifting target to suit people's needs. How many "somebody wins" are available, and who gets them? I'll put a standard out there: If you beat a current Top 25 team regardless of conference, that's a somebody win. So as of 11/21/2024 that's 39 somebody wins. Maybe as a fun project I'll average it out over the past 10 years (yes, I'm a nerd lol). If you think my scale is lenient, well ok, but what's yours? And how is anybody supposed to schedule around such a standard? Texas's schedule was fine until it wasn't. Notre Dame's schedule was fine until USC, Stanford, and FSU all fell apart. Indiana doesn't have the ability to schedule non-conference like higher profile schools do.
Ответитьcold weather favors warm weather teams because they are trained in adverse heat. Cold is good for athletic performance.
ОтветитьI keep hearing there is a 'scheduling' problem in the Big 10. The problem is there are a few good teams and like 15 not good teams. That can't be fixed with scheduling.
ОтветитьSemi Finals should be on campus!
I think college football is SO close to where so many of us who were always pro play-off have wanted it to be, competition wise. I think we’d be nearly there if it wasn’t for the extreme conference realignment seen in recent years. (Last year’s BIG12 and PAC12 would have been a phenomenal product feeding a 12 team playoff field).
But even with current alignment, I think a 12 team playoff is going to be tons of fun this regular season is proof the magic is still there and possibly elevated with more teams in the mix. What I can’t get over is that the quarter finals won’t be held on campus.
Campuses and the home atmosphere is what makes college football. When you factor is conference championships, 4 of the 5 most consequential rounds of games will be held in NFL stadiums. I think the on-campus first round will be incredible and it’s just a shame the top four conference champs won’t get rewarded with one.
My proposed solution involves several major changes that would probably upset many people but I think would gives us more of what makes this sport great. In short, top teams deserve a home playoff game & the national championship game should be played on New Years Day.
1. Move the season up one week
2. Play conference championships the weekend after Thanksgiving
3. Play first round of playoffs at home fields of 5-8 first weekend of December
4. Play quarter finals at home fields of 1-4 second weekend of December
5. Semi-finals held weekend before Christmas at NY6 bowls in rotation
5. Losers of first round play losers of second round in NY6 bowls in rotation between NYE & New Year’s Day.
6. CFB season culminates EVER YEAR at 8pm EST / 5pm PT in the ROSE BOWL to decide the national champion
the Citrus Bowl will be elevated to NY6 status with the Rose Bowl becoming permanent host to the National Championship
Stop whining about the rankings…it’s about time SEC teams came up north …you guys have had everything your way for the last 20 years….always getting to play in your backyard and always getting the benefit of the doubt…Those betting numbers don’t mean squat whet you start getting pounded at less than 32 degrees☺️
ОтветитьDon't sleep on Boise State!
ОтветитьWell so far today Josh, you got all you need for the "You are what your record says you are" crowd. Well depending on your PoV.
General Outlook - We are 10-0 and us folks at Indiana have the largest margin of Victory on college football. Our record says we are a top 5 team because our record says we are.
Alternative - We are 10-0 but us folks at Indiana have played 0 teams of significance and our average opponent ranking is 80, lower than anybody in the Top12. Our record says we should not even be a ranked team because we haven't beaten one. We got demolished by OSU, we totalled just 150 yards, less than half what OSU had. If the committee does what's right, Indiana will not be in the Top 12.
Josh hit it also on Florida.... they are a good team as they showed today
Apologize to Texas or trash the SEC immediately lol. What a terrible Texas take
ОтветитьGeorgia also came back on a fiery Gators squad. Look the SEC IS DIFFERENT compared to the rest. Every program in the SEC is a great team. A 9-1 IU team will lose to a 6-5 Florida team all day.
