The bottom lip is your anchor and when it dosent anchor correctly it lifts up. Compession excercises usually help when minor layoff times destabilize bottom lip.

Top lip just past the teeth. 💡 interesting that you mentioned gap, look closely at Jon Faddis. Dude filed an V in his teeth!

Both upper and lower lips need to be over the teeth - you need just the right amount of upper to lower lip compression, just the right amount of teeth opening, have the right oral cavity.
