Any chance we could get a list of some of the music you use? Not just here but for other videos? Some of it would make lovely mood setting for my work. That aside, thank you for the videos!

It sounds really cool, but any civilisation that was fragmented by time would quickly become separate, see East/West Germany.

i made my players fight an "unwinable fight", after saving their own planet, the players where going to some neighboring planet and help an allied nation do a last stand against the enemy army, they'r objective was "hold the line"... yeah they held it, it wasnt suposed to be winable, like man the kill kount was
15 Pluto Grunts
1 Pluto Veteran Elite
10 Conscripts (half HP)
3 Cataphracts
2 Veteran Mirages
1 Pyro Veteran
1 Elite Titan
1 Ultra Operator
all those where dog-piling on the players over the course of 6 rounds ? over the course of 3 or more sessions? and the players just, held the line lmao at LL3 for crying out loud

all that to say, i had the albatros drop in with IPSN frames, yeah when you sudently double the player count from 5 to 10, the enemy doesnt stand a chance, they whiped the floor with the ultra in 2 turns (despite it having 6 armor)
the group didnt know about lancer lore/the albatros, except 1 guy and he went "YOOOOOOOOOO", had the music playing and everithing, boy's droped in hellddiver style, dealing big damage to a bunch of enemies upon landing
but ima be real teh players didnt even need their help 😂 sure some of them would have posibly died, but the only real threat at that point was the ultra, and he wasnt particularly scary, he was just really hard to kill and dealt ok damage

oh well thats it on me rambling about some game i GM'd (our group stoped playing lancer after this)

Well, I'm not saying IPS-N is secretly funding pirate bands to keep Albatross busy so that they in turn can benefit from their good reputation, buuuuuuuuut..... (Also nice Monthy Python reference at the end there^^)

Hmmm. Maybe this is what i'll set my campaign as. Have the PCs come in at the crisis points with like no context about the current state of galactic affairs... and just go "okay you're here, make some tough decisions" and then they leave and go into relativistic time then stasis for... some length of time they're not really internalizing. Show up somewhere else, do it again... then eventually they start coming back around and facing the consequences of their contextless decisions as those "civilians" calling for aid in 4044 against those "rampaging mechs" have now fused the descendants of those labor strikers into their mechs to do mining and now they're actually insane from sensory deprivation and the descendants of those poor, scared civilians are now full feudal lords. They're like time travelers phasing in and out of time scrambling to make things better this time instead of worse. All with different anachronistic accents and takes.

I saw a video explaining Lancer like a year ago where the creator completely misinterpreted Albatross' relationship with IPSN and thought they were their private security force of space cops... and like... noooo... IPSN just gives them stuff cause it's when the kinda evil you do doesn't tend to generate distress signals, it's just good PR to fund a bunch immortal void paladins fanatically dedicated to saving everyone they can just because it's the right thing to do. DX

Someone else made this comment on another Albatross video, and it's stuck with me since.

"In the relativistic reality of LANCER's galaxy, a call for help is not always answered. Cosmopolitan merchant-clans are loathe to risk their homes, Corpro-state convoys see little to be gained by aiding the stranded, and Union Navy flotillas are formed and deployed with specific and grand purpose. That is what makes Albatross so special, even in the eyes of those who have been, are, or will be their enemies. Always answering the call, no matter the circumstances or identity of those who made it.

If Albatross can hear you, they will come. They might not arrive in time. They might drop from nearlight in your darkest hour. They may be decades or centuries late. But Albatross always, always, comes."

Now I'm curious of what will happen if Albatross gets to a planet to help and other factions (or, let's say, some free-Lancers) are already on the spot, but maybe not solving the problem in a satisfacting way...

I’ve commented before on this, but I really vibe with the use of Hardspace Shipbreaker for IPS-N. Their aesthetic is exactly what I have in mind for them.

Like, I’m very tempted to run a campaign set in the Lancer universe but not about Lancers. The aesthetics and themes of the galaxy are just so cool.

I could see some Albatross secrets/surprises being:
-preserving tech like the Brotherhood of Steel, the chapters responsible for that are little known within the broader group
-being ready to unite and lead in case some galactic-wide threat
-High Commander may have a mission like Leto II, steer humanity to some goal, might be to stay united enough not to become different species, but not so close that all become to calm/peaceful in case a threat emerges
-there's pirates and then there's "pirates", and the "pirates" are up to something that needs to be stopped (or supported)

I love all of these videos! This might be a stupid question, but where does all your lore knowledge come from? Is it just from the core rulebook or also from game lore in campaigns? I haven't finished reading the core book yet and I've only been playing in a homebrew campaign using a different system for its lore, so I haven't come across Albatross, the Trade Baronies or any other groups/lore like this

I can imagine a bunch of pirates raiding a ship, laughing and mocking everyone for being so weak as they're busy with plunder, then they get a warning from their ship that a single ship is rushing in at full speed, then a ton of frames drop from the ship and all the pirates can hear in open coms "MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!" as a dozen or so mechs rush at them like a very angry flock of birds aiming for your french fries at the dock.
