Hi Pauline and Rick. Firstly thank you for showing Ian’s stand with the continental models! Rick please DONT become a stand up comedian, the ‘Tar Pauline’ joke about the blue wagon was so bad😂😂😂😂😂, I think was should start a collect to buy it from Ian. Also we should add the car transporter wagon because you need another one. Are you planning to buy another Flying Scotsman? Only you looked at so many in this video! Pauline please stop Rick from being distracted by model cars!
Regards
Harry
Morning guys, Another great video. I always watch your videos while im in the loft messing with my trains, must admit i do have to keep going back as i miss loads when im doing some glueing. Keep up the great work.
ОтветитьGreat video as always. You actually did me a huge favour, when you picked up that book " Railways around Manchester" you sparked a memory from 1981 - I saw that book in Ashford Library, and always wanted a copy, as it had pictures of my home town or should I say "village", that being " Withington" or as it was back then, " Withington and Albert Park" although my.proper home was " Didsbury" yet I lived 3 mins down the road from Withington. I remember as a child, crying when they closed the line in 67, yet I have vivid memories of being fortunate to see a brand new D3xxx later class 08 gleami g in BR green and red rods, trundling down towards Stockport Tivot Dale, as well as a brand new D5xxx again ex works later class 25 also heading g Stockport direction.
I visited the area again in 91, the track bed was flooded up to Palatine Road Bridge, and a family of swans were swimming happily. When the decided to put the trams in I was laughing, when diggers went in and scraping back the undergrowth and trees they uncovered the original.plstforms of Withington, and whst a fuss was mad, like the discovery of an ancient Egyptian pharoh, hardly breaking news, I took pics back in 91 at the old station, clearly visible, just trees in the platform and track bed, also photographed the remains of Didsbury, now the original station is under a new tunnel built over the old line and its been built on above - shame, the new tram stop at Didsbury being in the old goods yard.
Apologies for waffling on 😅😅 - lovely to see the old 1970s Flying Scotsman, always wanted one.
The "Northdown Brewery" wagon, totally fictitious, but the model promotes a small brewery we have down here in Margate, so Hornby obviously thought to jump.on the band wagon or in this case , " Brand Wagon", they're getting desperate for new releases, take for instance their " failure" to up date their Battle of Britain " Spam Cans", desperately in need of up grading, but now Dapol have announced a new die cast version with fully detsiled cab, smoke gwnerator and working marker lights with up to 15 variations!
Looking forward to your next production, best wishes to you both, and Bobby
John
PS - If you're after a model of that Black 0-6-0 Collett Goods loco, let me know, I've got a boxed one you can have for free - had it for years, never been run, just drop me a line, and its yours.
That first stall had some nice Liliput stuff. I've collected some of that and am currently building an HOe narrow gauge, Alpine style micro layout.
