How to CATCH Luderick in Your Local LAKE or RIVER!

goodmorning to you Roger. please can you explain how to use a fish hook extractor? i just hate it when i must dispose of a fish due to the hook bieng swallowed to deep!

we call them parore in New Zealand. great fish to target and such fun to target with light tackle.

roger,im amazed as to how clean the waters seem to be in australia. here in kzn natal south africa, our waters in easturies tends to be very dirty almost all of the time. i dont risk dirty water, due to bull sharks feeding the channels as the tide comes in. this limits available areas to fish.

please can you do more videos on fishing varios species of fish in eastury or harbour enviroments??

Roger, another top video. I haven't fished for luderick for 40 years when the snapper bug hit me. We used to use an Alvey centrepin reel loaded with 6lb mono and a whippy 10' 6" rod. The mono was smeared with vaseline to make it float. We used to mix the weed with sand and chuck it out as berley

Most of them in the rivers at this time of the year will eat cabbage because there fish that are coming in from out side to spawn and there used to eating it. But yer in the summer time they will want string weed. But hay I reckon go catch a flathead or few whiting and leave they filthy blackfish there🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great tutorial Roger ! Have you ever fished for luderick up where the channel drops into the lake ? on the north side there is a hole that i spotted a heap of luderick in but didn't have bait or gear for them. That lagoon always reminded me of Narrabeen lagoon and i always looked forward to fishing there when i had my van down near there .
You didn't mention how good they are on the plate ! Bleed , fillet and skin - magnificent !

Excellent video, I've noticed that you hold your rod with your right hand, with the reel handle on the right, can't you change the reel handle to the left , which is what we do here in england.

I use sheet lead so you can shave off lead to get perfect byocy rog

Don't spoil oysters with Mornay rog

Roger, why not use small circle hooks thus avoiding most of the issues with needing to set the hook.

I lived in narrabeen for years I fished for bream and flathead there never seen u on the lake u must have fished the channel up the front I mainly fished pipe clay point and on the parkway for bream on surface lures

Hi roger, I have tried using your exact set up I find side casting often results in my leader getting tangled with my float as soon as I cast it at maybe 50% of the time. Would love if you'd go into more detail around casting techniques in your next video!

Hi Roger. Great vid as always! You said you were using your squid rod. Is it an EGI rod? Could you please tell us the actual rod you use? Cheers.

Instead of a rubber stopper a piece of clear plastic tube over the top of float allows you to adjust the depth easily.

I like the incoming tide as I’ve found more fish enter the system from the sea ( bigger cleaner fish) I also use a much larger hook and larger lengths of twisted up cabbage 🥬

I can’t help but feel weird watching people chase luds without a centerpin

I spotted a world record flathead on that sand flat the other day

Where do you get the sea cabbage, I’m a local and have trouble finding some😀
