Doubt I'll ever afford one. But the Widelux intrigues me based on some of the images I've seen.
ОтветитьHaha thanks for the shoutout~ I preordered the Film Never Die camera pre-kickstart idk what that means for me 🥲
I’d like a premium point & shoot~
I think the 17 is already back ordered here in the USA. Pentax, from what I understand was really caught off guard by the demand. I have been unable to buy one as of yet.
Ответить$350 for a fixed lens focus free camera is diabolical
ОтветитьJapanCameraHunter claims that the Nana camera is a scam, he claims it's a rebranded camera from Alibaba with the cover changed
ОтветитьDefinitely the GR, but the widelux is intriguing. 😸
Ответитьthe nana is not a new camera and its also not premium. dig a bit deeper and you find out that its probably a recased cheap chinese pns.
Ответитьyou should take alook at the alfie camera project :)
ОтветитьMarwan El Mozayen, of Silvergrain, was recently on episode 72 of the camerosity podcast to talk about progress of the widelux if you're interested in hearing more
ОтветитьA new analog GR1 would be a dream ❤
ОтветитьI’d seriously consider both a GR and the Widelux.
ОтветитьI've sadly heard the Film Never Die camera is just a cheap Alibaba camera repackaged in thin metal.
Ответитьwould love a new film Ricoh GR that prints date lol
ОтветитьI think if more people show interest in the widelux, maybe more panoramic film cameras could be made :D
ОтветитьThe Nana sounds like a huge disappointment. The LAST think I want to pay for is motorized operation. Winding the camera is part of what makes it a pleasant experience, and it's not exactly hard work. What idiot decided to make a $300 point and shoot that instead of having a glass lens just makes the experience feel less analog?
ОтветитьYour channel is getting to big to make videos like this bro, you’re going to inflate all the prices. This is bad for the film community.
ОтветитьNew Widelux: very exciting! I’ll take one!
Fixed lens, fixed f/11, fixed 1/125? Hard pass
New GR1? Lovely! I’ll take 2!
Hope that the new widelux cures my yearning for Xpan
ОтветитьI always thought the images captured by the Widelux and even with the Horizon were much more interesting compared to Xpan due to the rotating lens system and the curvature. But I won't pay 3k$ for it.
ОтветитьI would like to see something that does not yet exist in this form from Pentax, but which Ricoh has already brought onto the market in two ways with a Pentax K mount. I'm talking about a completely mechanical SLR camera with a metal leaf shutter and battery-powered TTL light meter.
Pentax does not even have this in its own portfolio. With a cloth focal plane shutter yes, but there is no model with a metal leaf shutter from Pentax directly. Of course, the light meter should also be up to date. But I personally don't have a Pentax model that is comparable to the Nikon FM, Nikon FM2, Nikon FM2n or Nikon FM3a in terms of the criteria. With a reasonably bright focusing screen, Pentax K mount, hotshoe, and a fastest shutter speed of 1/2000 or even 1/4000 second and, as I said, with a metal leaf shutter. Of course also with a mechanical self-timer. And if possible with a metal body. That would be my Pentax dream for the analogue world.
Maybe then as a Pentax K2000, who knows.
a new GR film camera that doesnt have a top LCD that doesnt die would be lovely. i've passed on so many GRs cause of that dame LCD.
ОтветитьA reboot of the GR film camera will be a hit ..if Pentax is more picky about the quality and endurance of the camera components (the original ones had a limited lifespan according to Daido Moriyama...) and if success brings a GR21 and then a MX ...imagine this triggers Nikon with a come back of the 28TI and a FM4 (a FM3 with a HP finder)
ОтветитьThe gr film cameras are notorious for breaking
ОтветитьThese companies should have dumped the money into the film not the cameras we have plenty of good cameras
ОтветитьI might sound crazy but I think the pentax 17 is such a cool camera. I can't afford it so I'll just stick with my 40 yr old minolta x-370 😂
ОтветитьPerhaps after the Pentax project has worked its way through all 4 35mm cameras on its docket they will produce a 6x9 220 film SLR along the lines of the 67ii. Doesn’t need to be all metal, doesn’t need to be all mechanical, does need to produce big, classic, sharp negatives
Ответитьa F1 fan? notice the Monaco shirt. i have been there. magical place.
ОтветитьMy vote is for the GR1v. I borrowed one in the early 2000s, put 2 rolls of B&W through it and always remembered its image quality and simplicity.
I couldn't afford one at the time and by the time I could, they were not available new. In 2012 I was able to buy a new Fujifilm Klasse W directly from Japan. I think they had just gone out of production. These are similar to the Ricoh GR1v in spec. but with more optional manual controls and a more upmarket look. Stunning image quality, even a little better than the GR1v.
A new Pentax made GR1v would be expensive today.
the film never die nana camera is a massive scam, avoid
ОтветитьThe FilmNeverDies camera is a cheap redesign of all the other point and shoots with flash for 30€/$... the price is a joke.
ОтветитьAs someone who lives in the city in which FilmNeverDie is based and has used their services, and who has seen the prototypes up close, the Nana camera has been very disappointing to me since day 1. Feels disingenuous and like a scam. I have a video on my channel detailing some of the controversy surrounding it for those wanting to know more, but the self-funding of the Kickstarter brought it over the line from disappointment to downright anger for me. I don't hold any of this against anyone but the owner of FND, the staff there are lovely and they provide a great service in a good central location, but the Nana is really quite the ripoff. It isn't selling at the inflated initial RRP they announced, and the prices have dropped on them already just to shift units and justify the whole fiasco. It's a re-shelled Alibaba or Kodak plastic point-and-shoot, it's not "high-quality" or "premium" in any way aside from its appearance (which isn't even that impressive in-person).
ОтветитьRicoh GR has a APS-C sensor, it's size/form is not suitable for 35mm film camera, etc. They could do "GR 35" but they would have to make it basicly from the scratch.
ОтветитьWhat about Alfie??
ОтветитьThe Ricoh GR is probably my dream camera, I've never bought one cause I just can't justify it considering the terrible LCDs, I would go crazy for a new one if it didn't share that problem.
ОтветитьEven if I would also much prefer to see a GR-like camera as the hopefully next Pentax FF camera, I think it will be more likely a Pentax 36, very close to the 17. The 17 is almost a 36: double the cutout area in the film chamber, switch the viewfinder, adjust the winding gear, done. The already motorized lens positioning according to the set up distance could shurely be turned into an auto focus.
ОтветитьI love my GR1 but I would absolutely buy a new GR film camera, especially if it came with a little fast 40 on it.
ОтветитьI want the rollei so BAD 😭😭
ОтветитьJeffs photo books are amazing
Ответить$350 for a camera with a permanent f11 and one shutter speed? I can't fathom the thought process behind that.
Ответить$250 for a plastic lens is crazy💀
ОтветитьI have heard that the Pentax 17 is a chassis body camera. Does not mean that it would be the foundation of the 35mm coming out next but maybe variations of it in the future. I have also heard they are seeking photographers input on what they would like to see in the full frame compact camera.
If that is true, what would your suggestion be?
What if instead of making new cameras the better the making process of film so it’s cheaper
ОтветитьCrystal clear lens? Maybe a hint. Gass is crystal,, plasticis not i don't think.
ОтветитьI fell in love seeing the Pentax, even when I heard the price I was like “oh well… sacrifices can be made”. When I heard it was half frame I was expectativas… but then when I saw it was vertical… meh.
Like I love shooting vertical especially in small spaces, but in my head that is going to feel so weird… 😵💫
In the 40s, Hollywood became enthralled by the 3D camera. It was all the rage first in Hollywood, and then spreading to the rest of the people.
ОтветитьI would have thought the 'model' for the next Pentax would be the Contax G2, not a Ricoh. Unfortunately, Pentax is showing that they have surreally horrendous taste in terms of aesthetics. That half-frame abomination borrowed all the worst elements of their already ugly 70s cameras. Just gross. I was initially enthused by the news last year that Pentax was getting back into film cameras, but now... not. And then when i remember the bad experiences i've had with their (used) 35mm SLRs (MX and LX), i'm even more inclined to just spend the stupid dollars on a T2.
ОтветитьIf a gr film camera came out today, I would buy 3 off the bat. Absolutely the best street photography camera. I’m a Leica shooter and have been for over 15 years. Only cause Ricoh won’t step up the game. If a weather sealed GR digital was out, I would have grabbed it. If they released a film camera that was reliable, it would be amazing. C’mon already!!!
ОтветитьA new film GR - please!
ОтветитьI'd rather Leica bring back the M7 rangefinder!!!
ОтветитьBessa had a low cost rangefinder that used the Leica M mount for lens! Wish they'd bring that back!!!
Ответить
