Ineos are going full Brexit and fielding Brompton Grenadiers next season
Ответитьwhat sort of idiot would choose a 'slow, reliable tyre ' instead of 'fast tyre + DNF'
ОтветитьGiro. West Coast of NA the stage finishes about 8am or so. I throw it on while making breakfast. See the finish before work. Perfect!
ОтветитьI’m a bit embarrassed to say I watch the Giro from start to finish everyday…
ОтветитьMy guess for the s5 is the stage was pretty much flat until finestre
ОтветитьIf they are banning narrow handlebars, they should ban ugly helmets in the process as well.
Gone with all the POC helmets
Chris, I had multiple rim punctures, and 4 tires slices on the road last year and it completely made me ride less on the road and more on gravel where I had zero issues. I've never had that many mechanicals in a single year in my 30 years of cycling. I still ride the road, but more selective on where, but I still enjoy it. Don't give up on it, just learn to accept it.
ОтветитьI am absolutely here for more Coach Reacts videos from Jesse.
ОтветитьWeek 5 of asking for polls for Dog or Fast Bike before the episode airs.
ОтветитьMy shoulders are 37cm wide. I ran 38cm bars for several years and just swapped to 36cm in September and they are FAR more comfortable for me. Maybe some type of ratio from shoulder width to handlebar width like the TT rules? Either way I definitely don’t want to go back to 38s
ОтветитьI watch an hour of this I sure am watching 2 hours of a grand tour each day 😤 (eurosport emoji)
ОтветитьBoys just watch the 52min highlight program on SBS on demand, easier to find the time and yiu don't miss anything important..
Ответить❤
Ответить@jessecoyle can see aero, estimate a riders ftp within about 2 watts and even “see@ a bike’s postcode now! Genius!!!
ОтветитьWith the narrow handlebar ban: the UCI should make it so you can only go +/- 2cm from your shoulder width, this way people cant have a 44cm shoulder width but go down to 36cm making a fit issue and a safety issue, but also allows smaller riders with a genuine 36cm shoulder width (im a guy and i have a 36cm width) still be able to fit on a bike correctly. "Its unfair because then smaller riders can be more aerodynamic" is the same logic that taller riders are unfairly better because they have more muscle and more power: it levels the playing field by keeping the aerodynamic advantage of smaller riders. if smaller guys were forced to hold the same aerodynamic losses of larger guys then being bigger is just plain better.
ОтветитьI love watching cycling, it's the sport that I enjoy the most alongside MotoGP and WSBK. People watch Formula 1 and football matches for like 2h.
I take time to watch cycling whenever I can, even cyclocross sometimes
gen 7 pedals itself
ОтветитьRegarding Jesse's hilarious reassessment... The Nero design is fun, cool, interesting and unique, but it isn't very fast looking. The grids and design elements are too square and static, not much motion or action to them. Happy to help with the next design when the time comes!
ОтветитьAre we just ignoring the cargo pockets?😂
ОтветитьTime Skylon getting a pro or world tour team would be amazing!
Ответить36mm width bar min. 30mm width bar min on TT bikes. Ban TT bars. This would be way more fun.
ОтветитьI thought there already was a 36cm limit on handlebarwidth by the UCI?
ОтветитьYour show, your segment but time for criteria for what makes a bike a dog or a fast bike on your show. You can’t say that Madone is a dog because you don’t like how they spent their money. What if someone called your bike a dog Chris because it’s a baby shit colour or because they don’t like steel spokes on carbon wheels. I feel you should apologise to this viewer.
ОтветитьHello, troll with a penchant for climbing bike here. The dogma would be a dog of a climber. That baby is at least 7.3-7.4 kilos. Then it wouldn’t even condescend to wipe its ass with my tcr on the descent but oh well…
ОтветитьGreat Unbound coverage and shout out to AUS Brendan Johnston getting 5th in a world class field
ОтветитьHey Chris and Jesse, since you guys are always talking about chinese frames in labs i'd love to hear your thoughts on the seka spear, and on the cima speed, both taken into the wind tunnerl, the cima even compared with the sl8, found it on the weightweenies forum where the tour magazine sheet is discussed, page 200. I'd like to hear your guys thoughts on these "premium" chinese frames, can include, tavelo sl plaid, winspace t1600, and these mentioned, cima speed and seka spear. Most have their own handlebars options as well, I think it would be a good segment, i may be missing some brands but i believe these are the bigger "premium/wind tunnel tested" ones. I guess you could slap farsports wheels on any and an ultegra di2 and it would be a banging build but lmk your thoughts!
ОтветитьBut UCI allow 35cm at the hoods now, there are restrictions already i thought, how do they retroactively enforce this, UCI playing silly beggars
ОтветитьChris, yes you should run mountain bike tires and bunny hop that rock, not ride into it. Skill issue
ОтветитьOn Chis with gravel racing -- I believe that we are now at 'peak gravel', meaning that gravel racing as a sport is likely as big as it is ever going to get. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way a hater of gravel nor am I wanting to see any downturn, rather, looking at the rapid rise of the gravel scene and how things are playing out, I don't think that things will ever get bigger, rather, there will likely be a gradual shrinking of the sport overall. I predict that gravel will permanently be a part of the overall cycling scene, however, it will not ever become the dominant part of the overall sport of cycling that some have predicted.
Ответитьbring back the pedaling supertuck
ОтветитьMtb tires have ~60% more volume than gravel tires, a huge difference in reducing mechanicals alone, let alone them being faster
Ответитьlayup for the boys
ОтветитьQ36 is owned by the owner of Pinerello and that team will be on Pinerello's next year
ОтветитьThat dumb helmet and then the parachute of a pin job
ОтветитьIf ya wouldn't ride over glass, don't ride over sharp rocks without the right equipment, or attitude. Tour guys used to ride dirt roads!
ОтветитьMy 61cm Cervelo, just weighed in at 6.7kilos, a 1,200gm aero-CF bladed AUD1,800 custom wheelset helped. Yates > 6.81kg! Bet on it.
Get Josh Poertner on to talk about waxing, gravel and aero as a guest, he IS a sponsor! They sponsor EFE & Visma. too.
I'll say it again! Cannondale, get these men some bikes!
ОтветитьAs someone who has been binge watching all of the races, I take offense to this conversation about the Giro 😅😅
ОтветитьYates's power data was nice and accurate. Del Toro's power was Shimano random number generator.
ОтветитьRegarding flats in gravel:
- put on bigger tires (not many drawbacks unless muddy and with no sus it's probably fastest setup anyway)
- put on tougher tires (higher rolling resistance)
- put on suspension fork (higher weight)
- keep more distance from the rider up front (less pull)
- take better lines (may require scouting)
- put in tube once it already happened (like everybody)
- have a flat tube inside tubeless setup tire (like keegan swenson) to have a quick fallback
- be a star of a team of riders, so someone would swap his wheel with you
If you put everything on edge for the sake of raw speed and you hope for the best but ultimately flat - everything seems right to me!
FDJ are on Wilier. Picnic Post are on Lapierre (and were on Scott). I’d put FDJ on the new Time Skylon (very French). Scott should go to Quick Step as you say. Picnic Post need to find something faster.
ОтветитьI watched every mountain stage live. Epic racing
ОтветитьA dog of a bike is a dog of a bike.... Great to see a $24k Trek in the 🗑️...👍
ОтветитьAs for the Galfer rotors. They are 10 euros cheaper than Dura Ace. And are 40 grams lighter per set than Dura Ace.
Ответить
