The problem with all GenAI is the sourcing of the data. LLMs are not inherently bad, but it's an area that has next to no oversight and as a result practically all data sourcing for teaching the middle are incredibly unethical - so this is not stable ground at all, certainly not based on the features you mentioned, which are only going to be maintained financially via other means. You're a genuinely smart guy, but I'm not sure you thought this one through.

Also, on the subject matter, Tencent is horrible, and we should be worried - but only EQUALLY as worried as we are over Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. - especially considering they are now also politically implicated and controlled, as evident of Microsoft blocking a business account of a foreign court judge, based on American governmental "request", due to said judge's opinions not aligning with American policy. ALL of this is extremely disturbing.

I left China before WeChat became popular. At this point you have to have on your device WeChat to live in China. Hell, I'd say if you have a substantial amount of Chinese friends in your circle, even if you're not in China, you have to use that damn app to connect with them.

When you mention TenCent, the first thing that comes to mind are the new wave of Chinese anime that are coming out.

Okay, I knew that TenCent was all over the place, but them owning Riot Games and Epic Games is news to me...

I was also vaguely aware of the ownership of Discord...but the other studios (From Soft, Paradox and others) are also new... and disappointing.

...I honestly have to wonder if there is any real way to avoid CCP spyware now... I mean, I try my best to when looking into games and platforms, but this all just makes me feel demoralized.
