This was one of my favourite shows! They all look so young here. I wonder if this would be commissioned with BBC Three in its current form (online only). I doubt it, it feels like one of those shows that are designed to fill a schedule on a budget, but it still manages to be original and entertaining. As much as I love scripted dramas (what you tend to get on streaming services), I hope shows like this continue to be made.

Years of watching this finally proved worthy when walking around london with the mrs, pointing out all the little tricks people were doing, showing her its not the guy doing the three card monte to watch, but the guy of same ethnicity looking suspicious on his phone 20 ft away

The "Monte" was quite an usual scheme in my country in the '90s, in various versions.... seen a lady lost her month salary in the game, with the thugs associated with the game looming around and the "showman" leaving quickly... she was in tears but nothing she can do about as they run immediately. This might seen harmless, but it's not - also in many occasions there are pickpockets part of the crew, so beware. I did antagonized one such person (fortunately without big muscle behind me) when I did guess his trick :-p And there are more tricks to it ... like moving the base and changing the positions when you get the money from you pocket. And they can get violent when challenged, so beware!

That bet with the lager and the shots was bollocks. Because the empty glass was not part of the bet!

Does anyone know which episode of The Real Hustle it was where my absolutely favourite hustle occurred, which is the one when the guy when into the pub and used a big envelope to fool the woman behind the bar into giving the entire takings to him without realising?
