I don't think anyone cares about Dr. Who anymore. Let me clarify new Dr. Who. The old classic Who episodes are being streamed on plex and are amazing, yeah the special effects aren't that special but the show was mostly about the stories and not the effects.

I never double checked this, but years ago I heard that RTD supposedly believes that everyone is a little bit ğαγ to one degree or another. If that's true then this episode's message is truly insane: Being in a happy marriage between a man & woman and having children is unnatural and such people are secretly miserable because they're not being who they "really" are. Talk about narcissistic projection!

In his 2005-10 years on the series Davies was a Unifying force - it was his determination to bring the audience together for the series that brought it such incredible success and enduring mass-popularity.
When he was announced as returning, after Chris Chibnall's terrible Vandalism of series and character, I was fully supportive as I had expected him to bring the audience back, that would be his mission....

And yet it wasn't. He wasn't here to Unify the audience once more, he was here to be divisive. He was here with a mission to Provoke, sneer, and belittle the audience. Since the audience was already so small after Chibnall's assault on the series, Davies' behaviour and creative decisions have simply driven the last nail into the series and the character. It was always going to be a challenge to recover things after what Chibnall and Whittaker did to the series and character, but Davies in the end more or less continued with what Chibnall did... and he has finished the show.

Other than television limbo I don't know where we go from here.

It's so absurd. Throughout the history of Doctor Who, the Doctor's been implied to have had a normal, traditional family long ago back on Gallifrey, having children & grandchildren. In the TV Movie in the '90s, he had romantic feelings for the female nurse. In the modern series, he developed feelings first for Madame de Pompadour and then Rose, courted and eventually married Queen Elizabeth, and finally married River Song. But now he's not "being himself" if he's in a normal marriage and has a kid, he's not "being himself" unless he is a hedonist with other men. What utter nonsense!

RTD's mind is that 'Noooooooooooo' meme woman at Trump's 2016 inauguration. That has to account for the sheer level of hatred he spits out at the world every episode. WHY would any production company hire him now, knowing the extent of Doctor Who's destruction he's caused?

This episode was so cringe that Ellie Littlechild from WhoCulture was actually critical of it. I like Ellie a lot, she's entertaining and pretty to boot, but she really has tried to shine the turd that is Disney Who. Fortunately, it aint working on me.

Up until the Capaldi era, "Doctor. Who" wouldn't regenerate back to a previous version. Today's "Doctor Who" allows Whittaker to regenerate back to Tennant, then Tennant to bi generate into Tennant and Gatwa. Now in this season's finale Gatwa is supposed to regenerate back to Whittaker. This franchise is complete and utter cringe and rubbish. I couldn't care less if this series went on hiatus for over a decade. BTW, while all of this is going on, what is Tennant's "Doctor Who" doing? Is he going to make a cameo in this finale? This franchise is "deader than a doornail." It's a complete travesty and tragedy. At least, you can always go back and watch classic "Doctor Who" from1963 to 1989 and then from 2005 to 2015, up until the end of Capaldi's second season, series 9.

Because nobody who relies on a wheelchair can ever be happily married and living a life of domestic heterosexual contentment right RTD? 🙄

No one care about Dr Who anymore and we haven't cared for a very long time now.

Identity politics in any form is spiteful. It's antithetical to the Christian practice of love, forgiveness and humility.

One day, there will be media study courses that have an entire morning session that will detail this iteration of Doctor Who and how to destroy a formerly successful franchise that had run for 60+ years.. And it will be framed as a cautionary tale for the students as it will be teaching and encouraging successful careers for them.

Thing is: good fiction requires suspension of disbelief.
The way they set up this Doctor as Gay, gay, gay but this episode starts with a marriage parody: non-starter.
I have no problem with homosexuality but Doctor Who is supposed to be a sexual being in our unerstanding:: he's an alien.
The current writers want to address issues but don't have the finesse of previous writers: they smack young the head with a shovel instead of a pen.

RTD is a bitter old queen who is furious the world doesn't accept and celebrate his degenerate lifestyle.

RTD's first foray into Doctor Who fan fiction was a New Adventures novel from the 90s called "Damaged Goods." It's all there... a few good ideas that he later reused on TV, but also the depravity, the cruelty, the politics, mixed families, the cruising, mothers, babies, Tylers, and two guys adopting a child.

I found the plot mostly incoherent. Lord knows what a casual fan would make of it! 🤭

But it was entertaining in a slightly pantomime way. Hammy acting overload!

Next week may be or is Gatwa's final ever episode as the Doctor so my guess is he'll have an epic cry. Bafta worthy cringe fest. 😂
