For Those Without a Clear Vocation

There was an occasion wherein I entertain impure thoughts for a moment, but change my mind instantly knowing it is a mortal sin, but the thing is this I enjoy a little but i change my thoughts
Did I committed a mortal sin?

Help me father, while sleeping I saw Jesus in a dream. He told me to beat up the homeless guy in our street and steal all of his food. I know this is wrong but if Jesus asked me to do this should I still do it?

I been thinking about my vocation but all I see is uncertainty. I wish I had a wise confessor. I really need to figure out my vocation because I am 23 years now. Pray for me father!

You could always just get a hobby.

Where is it written that I am required to pray? I find it incredibly difficult to pray when I have no belief whatsoever in any higher power.

im a virtuous person i helped my family and by spiritual accident got injured in martial arts got in debt now paying that karma. god is not only tops he allows us to fail. i wish he helped us more,. satan desecrated my family he wont touch me. 20 years celibate in oct 2023. it can be dangerous also. i also pray for dave chappelle since he doesnt stop punishing me online. father you should hook up with rabbi friedman and do a podcast

We can't be perfect right, only God is perfect. However, and obviously in contradiction to my prior sentence, what our perfection is, is fully becoming what God wants us to become.

Well, just pray for it, your vocation - don't try to figure out alone, ask God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and Mary prayers for help - the saints, and others to pray for you.

So what your saying is that not everyone has a typical unique vocation. To say grow in holiness is a vocation is silly. It's something we should assume we should do regardless of our calling in life. I wish I had a vocation. It's difficult to really believe in my worth without one. I'm getting close to 49, and have never found a place. I wish God would call me home or send me a real vocation/mission for this world. I'm weary talking to myself, and waiting for God's call.

Thank you, think i have been following too many 'self help' find your purpose podcasts and video's for too long that just frustrated me even more because I just cant seem to find it. Maybe the problem is that I just don't want to make a start with small decisions and be wrong... At least that would eliminate errors... Obviously the search entailed more what to do as career etc. instead of trying to be a saint which is probably the wrong start to begin with.

I am a Catholic, however, I don't understand why confession. A Priest is just like me. Why can't I confess to God myself? I would really like to know what to do. How can a man, the same as myself to forgive me of my sins.

How do we become saints in spite of our sins?

Have an opportunity to go to a Catholic Seminary, but I live with my Grandparents and they are getting older and have a good amount of ailments. I also know they would not like me leaving especially my grandfather cause he said he does not want me to leave while he is alive. I don’t want to abandon them either. I don’t know what to do and I want God to give me a sign to see what it is I have to do

How do we actually know God's will, though?

Just graduated college, 25 and moved to South Korea. I had a job offer that I took and now i realize it’s not anything that they said it would be. I feel so underprepared for life and feel abandoned. But like the video said, just trust in God and move forward.

This video just confirmed the conversation I had in confession.

This helped me a lot. I've been decerning my vocation with so much pressure, feeling as if I must make the right decision and if not I am failing God. But to be a virtuous person first, is to asses who you are as a child of God; that role comes before whatever you are on earth such as a parent or religious devotee. It's such good advice because everything makes sense now- take it step by step. I struggle most with patience; its just been part of my personality since I was a child. It's not that I have bad intentions, I just like a fast-paced life and mentally move fast so it frustrates me when life doesn't move at the same pace. I need to stop asking God when my blessing will come and start being thankful in the moment for the blessings I'm living right now, being happy that I have them at all. Thank you for this video, Father. For about a year I have been stressed about what God wants me to be but this just gave me so much clarity and took a huge weight off my chest. Thank you so much God bless you.
