After having had a Mini Schnauzer for 11 years, I would love to get to own a Standard Schnauzer this time. Can anyone advise who would have puppies available at this moment
ОтветитьI've had my standard for 3 years now and it's been a blast. Extremely loyal and loving. I drove to Indiana from NY to get Cooper and am so glad I did. Love him to pieces
ОтветитьI really want a Standard Schnauzer but the thought of food sticking to their beards is putting me off.
ОтветитьI have a mini. He is not my dog, but my best friend. Best bird dog ever. He doesn't bark much, more like he is talking to you. He asks for things and I have learned to understand him. He is 16 and going strong. He was off leash trained from a pup, never had a problem with him. He always comes when I call him. Also never used treats to train him. He is one smart dog..
ОтветитьMy Mr. Peabody has been officially adopted as of Oct. 28. He wandered in, collarless, chinless, horribly matted and beard filthy last March. I advertised all over without locating an owner. Two women came to check him out, but he wasn’t theirs. He gets along fine with the mastiffs, and he pretty much ignores the cat! One thing I don’t worry about is security as a single woman. Nobody comes on the property without being loudly announced, and should anyone try to break in or harm me, well, I hope he’s always wondered what it’s like to be a chewy toy, because he’s going to find out!
Ответитьmy schnauzer lets me live with him
ОтветитьI love their beards
Ответитьgreatest breed ever

ОтветитьI just got a 5 month old male standard schnauzer, we have had him for 7 weeks. So here is my experience so far. He is rambunctious, stubborn, friendly, and high energy.Loves people and dogs but does bark when anything passes by the house. Not trusting of other dogs until he meets them. His bark also sounds like a dog twice the size and he is still a pup. At times i like it (as a deterrent) just not middle of the night for no reason. It's true this breed needs a strong leader. Not all breeds do. Mine seems to be definitely watching for any opportunities to take charge, which as a busy mom its very challenging. I'm hoping with time he will accept that I'm more stubborn than him and I'm not giving in. His training is very time consuming. So take that into consideration. He gets destructive if not kept busy. Firm training is a must, I'm a new dog owner and I would say this breed is a better fit for an experienced owner. There is a reason golden retrievers and labs are so popular, even though they can be high energy they are usually very willing to please and easily trainable. Hoping with time and training mine becomes well adapted. Also this is one person's experience. I would meet some different ones in a home setting and really sit back and observe. Sorry for long post! Wished I had more honest advice about the standard when I was searching
ОтветитьI WISHD ID HAD DOG LIKED THAT
ОтветитьLove and loyalty 🤟
ОтветитьPut in the work and time in the early days and you get the perfect all round dog. I have standard and mini. Standard is not a first dog for people. The mini is. But my standard is so laid back . <3
ОтветитьI just got one and I’m still trying to figure him out he’s cool I love him
ОтветитьDoes anyone know how they are with Chickens?
ОтветитьI have a 3 year old male standard schnauzer and got him a little sister, now 10 months old. They are energetic, loving and smart - and best friends. Apart from that, the two of them have very different characters, which is wonderful. The male is very calm and dignified, the female rambunctious and in need of a lot of nussling - thinks she is a little dog, and loves to jump in my lap. They only barks when called for, and are easy to train. I have had other breeds, but must say: these schnauzers are amazing, but you must take the time to train, exercise and groom them (do it yourself, that's part of the bonding, and it is free)
Ответитьstubborn ✅️

ОтветитьWhy is my schnauzers beard brown? It use to be white! How do I make it go back to white?
ОтветитьI WISHD ID HAD STANDARD SCHNAUZER
ОтветитьMy Schnauzer was the most talented escape artist since Houdini. My backyard looked like Auschwitz with massive reinforced fences with chicken wire wrapped around the top yet no matter what I did “Spook” would be terrorising the neighbourhood like some kind of meth addicted nut case every time I got home. Chasing down buses, biting at the wheels of cars, running through everyone’s backyards. Catching him was almost impossible and he treated it like a game. I saw him get completely run over by cars multiple times and he’d immediately shake it off like it was literally nothing.
Infinite energy and extremely strong for his size, Very well behaved and responsive to commands as long as you didn’t give him any opportunity to shoot out the front door 😂. His bark absolutely terrified visitors. He was incredibly intelligent, loving with a complex personality, I’ll never forget the bastard.
I wonder if the standard will protect the family or not ? Thx
Ответитьmine is 6 years old, she is named schnitzel. Like the food
ОтветитьMy mom got a mini schnauzer and im thinking of training one as a seizure response dog. I have epilepsy and several of our dogs over the years decided they would be alert dogs though we never formally did anything to teach them. Im thinking with their personalities and how much they love to help.
ОтветитьI’m thinking about a standard schnauzer for my boyfriend and I
ОтветитьI have a 10 week old Schnauzer and he is a ball of energy. We have a 4 year old Corgi and the pup is driving him crazy because he is lazy and not very playful...lol
ОтветитьFor people who are first time getting a dog, or have others pet and decide to get a dog, don't get this dog. This dog is a terrier, and most, not all, terrier are not friendly to other pets (like rabbits, cats, etc). And because it is a terrier, it has too much excited energy, like running around, barking and biting stuff, in order to stop those behavior you have to walk it a little more than 30 minutes every day, so don't try to get a trainer and tell them the problem, they will tell you the same thing. For the first timers, this dog needs to be taken care of, and it might be expensive with grooming and other things. Some of these breeds have trouble being left alone at a house. Make sure the dog has no issues with little kids, something kids like to run around and the dogs get triggered. Other than that, this dog is friendly with other people, but make sure the dog is not triggered with something. I have no problem having guests around, but make sure they are not left alone. They are smart dogs and easy to train. For people who know how to take care of a dog, this could be a good breed, but for those who are first timers, or have others pets, and don't know how to take care of a dog, look for something else. I hate seeing these types of dogs in a shelter and most people are first timers. Some people don't understand that this type of dog needs a great leader.
Ответить“Playing gently with younger kids” proceeds to bite my face off but I love him
ОтветитьI run a small dog rescue and received a 4 mo. old standard schnauzer.. She is now 2... She is very energetic and smart.. Although she loves to play witht he other small dogs, she will attack them if they have had enough and no longer want to play. They will growl and snap at her when they are done and she attacks them and shakes them.. If I had not interveined I'm sure she would have killed them.. I have to be on top of her at all times.
ОтветитьI have a schnauzer and he is very active but I need to know how much to feed him each day he is a middle dog and full grown kept him from going to dog pound
Ответитьwe are looking for a dog my dads allergic and i love schnauzers so i think were going to get one love your videos
ОтветитьWe owned a SS for 9 years and he was awesome. Loved him to pieces. He did need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. He died from cancer. I’d get another one, but would need to ensure we had a dog walker lined up if no one is home. Brilliant sweet affectionate dogs who need tones of exercise and take forever to grow up!!
ОтветитьToo stubborn and bark way too much for me. I will stick to my standard poodles.
ОтветитьBest dog breed in the world.
ОтветитьI have two schnauzers. One is 5 years old and the other is 9 months old. One of the best breeds in my opinion. They are loyal and very friendly. Something that is common with them is that they are ultra stubborn. It’s important to imprint yourself as an authority figure to them from early age. Respect the dog and he’ll respect you.
ОтветитьI don't know about anyone else, but I have seen HUNDREDS of Miniature Schnauzers and a handful of Giants, but I have NEVER SEEN a Standard. I wonder why?
ОтветитьI actually would like a standard! My mom brought home a giant schnauzer who’s now 1 year and 4 months old now. Originally had a snorkie which started our love for schnauzers. I have my mini baby and we live with my mom’s giant. Wouldn’t mind having all three :)
ОтветитьJust adopted one yesterday. He is just 4 months old. Such a great demeanor. I love him!!
ОтветитьI need a schnauzer 😭😭

ОтветитьOur Frieda is 12 and now a senior. She has been and is a great dog. She growls when she has something to say. She is afraid of tape measures and potato chip bags and some other every day items. I’ve seen her go ballistic twice. Once a hobo walked up to the front door of the little house my wife and I were remodeling and pulled on the storm door. Frieda let out a ferocious roar and launched at the door turning sideways for a full throttle body slam that shook the house and I think soiled the hobo’s pants. Another time during a very dark night she charged the fence we shared with the single girl next door. I thought another dog or wild animal was near because the sound she made was not recognized and was wild and viscous. Our neighbor was being escorted home by a man Frieda had not met and she evidently did not approve. I never saw him again. We did K9 nose work together and I strongly encourage you to engage in some type of similar activity that taxes your dogs brain. This work tired her out faster and more so than any physical exercise did. She was an athlete for at least her first ten years. You will want to be able to physically challenge your SS. She is a swimmer and she can smell the water a mile away. And, yes, she is stubborn. Before you get a SS , or any dog, come to an agreement in your household on what commands they are to learn and obey and what activities you will prohibit and be firm and consistent using positive reinforcement.
ОтветитьHave a standard schnauzer Dog. Great. Guard dog. My car was being robbed in my front Garden. He went Barking Violently frightened off three Robbers. Great dog. So intelligent have had Bigger dogs by Ger the best
ОтветитьExcellent Video! Good job! One thing: They are not related to poodles at all. They are closest to German Pinschers. But other than that, super spot on! Wow! Good research!

ОтветитьMy Standard Schnauzer name is RAMBO! He's AWESOME!
