As a fifth generation Alaskan, I would like to certify this reaction of the greatest city, in the greatest state, in the greatest country, on the greatest planet, in the entire history of the multiverse.

Loving the "reaction" videos, Nu. Keep 'em coming.😎

I LOVE Anchorage! It seems all the clowns who hate it, are the only ones really complaining about it. Anchorage has something for everyone unless your idea of outdoors activities include couch surfing.

Thanks for the video and information. If I was in my early twenties I would probably think about moving to Alaska. I had a cousin to move to Nome to work as EMT . Only lived there couple of years. And come down with something and his parents had a mess with him passing up there. Luckily the locals he had worked with him. Helped the parents for getting him back home.

Too much of a concrete jungle for me, reminds me of Oahu, too much people too much traffic I'll stay my country butt out here in the valley. New sagaya is the only reason I go to anchorage to get me some poke' hopefully for $9.99 a pound! I love that commercial on the radio with that old dude advertising for new sagaya, he can make just about anything sound good!😆

I guess that guy is just looking for traffic for his channel. #1 is traffic??! Tell me what city does not have traffic during rush hour? Common men! Just drive in LAX, NYC, MIA, Chicago Seattle, Dallas Houston @5pm..
You are right ProfessorNu, a lot of his comment is 50/50 and I also notice he always say according to…. I don’t know if he even spent time in Alaska or how long if he really did.. 👎🏼

I watched the "Top Ten Reasons..." video about two years ago (this time of year - early January). I was hoping for the type of video you just produced. Thanks Nu for providing the proper perspective. (With Amazon...there will not be the overnight deliveries.) The video you cited did not change my impression of Anchorage.

The outdoors is boring? I never run out of places to hike, camp, snowshoe, climb mountains...skiing is expensive but.....I also never get tired of snow. I never get tired of birds, wildlife, water, trees, unusual plants. I live alone and am never lonely.

Hey Nutty Nu, you can tell that guy has never spent any time in Anchorage. I was there for 11 years. Mainly to get away from "Certain Relatives." And all they got for my address was a P.O. Box! Believe me Nutty Nu, only THEN was Peace and Tranquility achieved! Plus, I went up there alone, and soon met the nice people from Anchorage and made friends soon. I'm not sure if it's still on Fireweed Lane and Arctic, but the G.I Joe's Military Surplus is where I bought my winter clothes. I bought them in the Summer when it was cheaper too. A good friend of mine up there told me: "Alaska is basically a land of Misfits. People either running from something, or to something." He was basically right about that. I sure miss old Anchortown!

The guy narrating the original video either does not live in Alaska or is trying to discourage other from moving to Alaska. Either way he is being disingenuous. NuttyNu does a good job destroying the guy's propaganda.

I agree with you 100%. I lived there in the late 70s and internet wasn't even a thing back then. Satellite phone calls to the lower 48 were kinda wierd. It depends on the individuals personality. There were cases of "cabin fever" were people could go a little crazy if they let being cooped up in the house all day get to them. There were some "Spenard divorces" (domestic violence). The cold can be dealt with and even enjoyed. The biggest con for me was mosquitos. They're not so bad in Anchorage but I saw some bad swarms out in the wild. If I could afford it, I would move back there... or have a vacation house there.

I don't think they had a single shot that was ACTUALLY Anchorage. The few AK shots they showed were of Juneau or other rural communities. I bet the narrator and/or OP hasn't even been here! I'm half-way convinced it was produced by Alaskans trying to reduce the number of lower 48 folks coming up and trying to make AK like everywhere else! LOL

Great video and great reactions! I've been here three years now and love it. It is home. That being said, from other points of view, some elements are true ( may not seem there is much to do). That food piece though...WTH?!?!? This city is FULL of amazing restaurants and the diversity of dining is amazing! Hope to see ya around!

You need to do something about that cough. My nephew has Tourrets Syndrome with the same mannerisms you have. Are you Touretts? Dude, get some meds, do something. It won't help you at all if you don't stop the mannerisms.

The idiot who made these comparisons has never been to Alaska! I came here in 89" female and no family. I fell in love immediately! After some more college and starting a new career. You make friends, get married, buy a home and create your own family. I never looked back and I will never leave. Anchorage is one of the greatest cities in the US with the most beautiful countryside on earth!
