U.S. reaches debt ceiling but AVOIDS default for now

Stop sending trillions of dollars to other countries and billions on illegals.

It's a short term solution. We need to raise revenue to make up for all the spending but guess what, Trump decided to cut taxes on the mega corporations putting the government in 8trillion dollars more debt.

So either 1) reduce benefits on the poor or 2) raise taxes ON THE RICH. There is only one evil, no lesser evil here.

Frankly it feels like republicans are that dad that always find money for alcohol (bloated military budget + subsidies) and says they don’t have money for food (things that actually benefit the American people social security, healthcare, education)

Congress works 4 days a week and they get a month off (September) every year and that's not including all of the other weeks they get off. A salary of 180k. Not to mention all of the bribes, I mean lobbying.

Let’s remind ourselves that congress sets the debt limit AND forces the president to abide by a budget. So congress is essentially mad that the president has “recklessly spent” the money (that they were legally obligated to) and fixes a problem they can fix easily. Such a stupid system
