I live in NJ. Im not really in a hurry to get my cc license BECAUSE I know if I made one teeny tiny mistake they won't hesitate to lock me up. And Im certain the government intended for me to feel this way because the state is very anti 2nd amendment.

Good tips to train/live by

Carrying a gun without one in the chamber to me means, you’re not responsible/comfortable with your gun/EDC setup and need more training/time (training should never stop). Reasoning, situations where you need to pull a gun and defend yourself happen quickly. If it’s not a quick situation you should have already left the area where you felt threatened. Another reason since most of the time it happens quickly and occurs in places like grocery stores, gas stations, malls etc your now betting on your life that you will be able to drop and free up both your hands to pull the gun, rack the gun, and fire a shot vs the offender who certainly has one hot and ready to go for you. Carrying one in the chamber ensures your ready to go and significantly increases your chances of being able to draw and fire a shot whether it be in a situation where you have both extremities available or just one. What if you take a bullet to the arm, what if you get taken down and pinned in close quarters, what if you pull the gun and fail to fully rack or what if you put in the proper correct technical training daily and you ensure your firearm is properly maintained and you make sure your EDC setup is safe and correct and right for you and you just do what every other military, officer and responsible human who practices their right to safety defend themself and others against a criminal and carry one in the chamber. End of discussion.

Isn't dry-firing bad for a firearm? Many supposed veteran gun owners insist that you don't dry-fire because it could damage something.

Who cares what people think or say? You don't have to listen to them.

Love the hold your ego. Too many people are quick to shoot on an insult or road rage.

Pocket carry, leather holsters, purse carry(Not mentioned, but I hear it a lot) are all TERRIBLE pieces of advice, especially coming from a CC instructor. Always kydex, always with some kind of belt clip, and always a design that covers the trigger guard. There are PLENTY of options out there for just about anyone, with any body type to be able to comfortably carry on body, with a kydex holster.

A socialized human being doesn't need to behave any differently while carrying a weapon. If you feel you have to tone down your attitude and your ego while carrying a gun, you just need to tone down your attitude and your ego, period.

I conceal carry in Massachusetts and unfortunately in this state I’m pretty sure that even if someone pulls a gun on me or is actively shooting at me I’m not allowed to defend myself unless I have no other means of defense or no escape route and other dumb liberal left wing laws that tell me that they’d rather me dead

Jason, have you ever had any issues when you're closing your one eye when you aim? I was always told to keep both eyes open so you have peripherals. In the beginning it was hard but now it's second nature.

Printing doesn’t get you in trouble unless you’re just carrying a gun illegally which at that point you were asking for it anyway. But I’ve carried for years and print all the time I’m 5’6 and most the clothes I wear wrap
Around me I don’t need to buy extra large clothes for the feelings of others and yes I’ve tried different holsters and even switched to appendix carry and I still print just not as much as before the only thing now is it’s uncomfortable when sitting and things like that but I like appendix more then the 3 o clock or hip carrying.

I carry P365 loaded with the safety on and I practice that safety release with my draw over and over until it is second nature.

I understand your point about carrying with one in the chamber, but I don’t agree that in the heat of the moment you’ll just forget to rack it, especially if that’s how you always train. I live in Israel and almost nobody carries with one in the chamber, so racking the gun immediately after drawing is second nature.

The number 3 mistake can be avoided if you carry a double action revolver.

I live in Iowa, so we have open Carry statute which means we can carry concealed or unconcealed and it doesn’t matter if the gun is loaded or not. That’s the way all states should be.

Here is a true story from Indiana. Hammond, Indiana my elderly neighbors were working on their car in the garage in the summer with the garage door. Open a man with a mask on, pulled the gun and tried to rob them. My other neighbor was watching the whole thing on hold pulls out his SIG gets one shot off And the gun malfunctions. he gets shot three times in the legs. The robber got hit in the throat and ran away. Moral of the story is don’t mess with SIGS they suck they got a hold of my neighbor offered him any gun he wanted, and he wisely declined
