When it comes to food & homewares choice & opportunity is king. It may overwhelm European sensibilities, so just pick one and get over it
ОтветитьI think the thing with options is because UK and a lot of different EU countries have lots of regulations on some of the dyes and additives we have over here
ОтветитьWithin the big cities, the public transportation is usually pretty accessible. But the reason why most people say it’s not that accessible in America is because most people live in smaller towns or cities outside the big cities where there are none.
ОтветитьIce. We, of course, have the opposite reaction when across the pond. I have been led to understand that the old lady that had the recipe died. While this seems at first to be silly, I have come to believe it. Just a bit.
ОтветитьI saw your minds getting blown repeatedly at Walmart 😂
ОтветитьGenerally American drivers are more polite in the small and mid-size cities than in the bigger cities
ОтветитьICE?
Isn't that something that collects on the roads in the winter?
It's odd how Europeans treat our big-box stores like tourist attractions when they come here. We just think of them as large faceless entities that long ago destroyed Main St. shopping.
BTW - Nutritionally speaking, the cereal aisle is not much different than the candy aisle.
Part 2 would be great! U-turns are variable based on location. They're not legal in Ohio and there's usually a concrete curb in the center in Michigan which creates the "Michigan left".
ОтветитьIf you don't like LA drivers you won't like Utah drivers either! I am sure they are former LA drivers 😁miserable creatures. Meet them out of their vehicles and most are probably cool, driving, JERKS!!
ОтветитьSo, until I was listening to you guys talk about it, I didn't realize other places don't use ice, gross! Why would you drink a cold drink without ice?! I don't like lukewarm drinks. I like very cold drinks, at least half the cup of ice 3/4 is better. My husband is Australian and I am trying to think back on if Oz uses ice, in the way we do. He's asleep because it's 3:30am so I can't ask. I would think it would be burned into my mind if they hadn't. So maybe England is just strange 😉 just kidding but maybe it is a UK thing, I wonder if Ireland, Wales and Scotland are ice people?
ОтветитьI think that public transport depends on where you are and how invested in cutting down traffic the city/state you are in is. Usually smaller places it will be crap. On the West coast it should be good in larger cities. I don't know about other places but it will honestly vary, this is a huge country!
ОтветитьI have lived in the USA all my life but never in a big city like LA, Austin etc. I use to drive to Chicago but didn't travel around in the city much, I just parked the car. Now, being older I have come to the conclusion I don't want to ever drive in LA, New York City etc. I am sure the general population would thank me for not driving because I would probably be the huge fur ball in the lane.
Ответитьcome to New England next time
ОтветитьIt's always assumed that you want ice in cold drinks if you don't want ice or less ice than what is normal for that establishment you have to say " No Ice " or " Light Ice " light meaning very little
ОтветитьYears ago, my work company transferred an engineer and his family from SE Asia to Indiana. His supervisor took the family to the grocery store for their first time because he knew they would be overwhelmed by the options for every item. He guided them through the options and helped stock their kitchen. He said they had the deer-in-the-headlights look the entire time.
ОтветитьThank you 🙏 and congratulations 🎈🎊🎉🍾 you drove in big city 🌆👏👏👏I am glad you enjoyed everything l liked all four of you visiting places ☝️have a joyful healthy day 👋☮️
ОтветитьVery glad you felt that your infant child was welcome here. I do hope you enjoyed our country and will consider spending more time here at some point. Thank you for your video.
ОтветитьThe thing with all the crazy variety at stores is that not a lot of people regularly get all the wacky flavors and varieties. We usually stick to the regulars
ОтветитьIf you lived in LA you'd get used to the traffic and become a jerk yourself as well for sure. It's too far gone to change it now. Just wait for it to be under water.
ОтветитьAre you guys ever going to finish " Band of Brothers " ?
Ответитьyeah as someone from the LA area, the driving is nuts
ОтветитьSadly we do have a lot of rude drivers. Particularly in major cities. However, in very rural areas we often will wave to oncoming cars! 😂
ОтветитьWe call them sidewalks, you call them pavements. Here, pavement is the generic word for a paved surface. Could be asphalt, concrete or paving blocks.
Ответитьdid you notice that at the bottom of the price listed they have the cost per unit, like how much per ounce so you can decide which is the best buy, if ther smaller is less expensive it might be the most expensive per ounce, so usually the family size is a lower cost because of the packaging, the company can pack it in 1.3 more cardboard but the cost is less because they don't have to run four boxes through the production procedure, and less handling of each box, easier packing to send to the store, etc. so larger things might cost less in the long run./
Ответитьice measns free refills, because the ice takes the place of the drink. if I am in a fancier restaurant we order soda with no ice and ice water on the side becausde some times the restaurant charges for refills. ways American's are cheap. lol.
ОтветитьNow you understand why we Americans go to Europe and are like: this is the modern world, where the hell is the ice?
ОтветитьI'm going to have to slow this video down and watch it again if I want to understand what you guys even said. So hard to understand you guys
ОтветитьPart 2 please
Ответитьnot sure if its the same in america and canada but in canada we also can turn right on most red lights but its not breaking the law if you just wait instead most people will hate you if you wait though haha.
ОтветитьWe always like a part 2 .. Love you guys and so happy you came over 🌺
ОтветитьOptions can be justified by scale. Manufacturers do not want to be switching machines around and doing 'batches' anymore than they have to. - this is going be very much ‘napkin math'.
So, the parent company for Cheerios cereal is General Mills. And for ease, let’s say they sell 10,000 boxes a day in the UK. And that the production lines for that cereal can produce 10,000 boxes a day, it’s very convenient and the machine can run full speed with no adjustments to ingredients or production.
In the US there is five times the population. With lazy math, they need 5x the level of production. So they need 5 of the production lines to produce them. Since each of those lines is most efficient if it it is only making one type of Cheerio, no resetting of machines or mixes is necessary. They can make 5 different flavours one on each machine. They are able to enjoy the same economy of scale on each production line
Yes, please, part 2 😎
ОтветитьWith the excess options sitch at the stores, I sometimes just have to say "Screw it, I'll just take THIS one"!! LoL
ОтветитьIce in your cup good!
Ice on the steps out of your house, or on the road BAD!
In America you HIRE a baby sitter or a Gardener, You RENT a car or a tool!
Inanamate object-rent
person -hire
I am in NYC and I am now trying to figure out how to get to a place 12 miles from me without a car. so far, without mentioning the approx 1 hour of walking , it looks like I have to take 2 subways and 2 buses and it will take me 90 minutes on public transport. I can say the transportation systems in the USA are sub par.
ОтветитьWhat can I say, in America we're ice gluttons!
ОтветитьMe as an American can’t wait to vacation in London in England 😃
ОтветитьWe love our Ice. Our favorite is from Sonic. But I'll take any kind of ice in my drink. So not a fan of hot drinks or room temp drinks. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip so come back.
ОтветитьIf you're in the USA, don't ask, "Where's the lift?" the person you're asking will think you want the car service "Lyft". Instead, ask "Where's the elevator or escalator?". Here's a few more helpful translations: the TUBE P "Subway" (or "EL" if you're in Chicago, Illinois), the bonnet of your car - the hood of the car, the cars boot - the trunk of the car. the tele - the TV, most Americans will refer to the UK as England, don't get offended when we say people drive on "the wrong" side of the street in England, a biscuit -a cookie, chips - "fries" or "French fires", chips in America are potato chips, under no circumstances should you ever refer to a cigarette as a "f-g", that word is considered offensive to a particular group. Also, constable - police, do not, repeat do not call a police officer "copper", some even take offense at being called "cop." Many Americans don't realize Charles is now the King.
ОтветитьYou can also turn left on a red light, after coming to a full stop, onto a street where traffic moves one way north or west. Most Americans aren't aware of this.
Ответитьif i had to sit there at a red... wanting to turn right... and NO ONE is around???? Not letting me go is an assault AN ASSAULT on my freedom. (except certain intersections where its dangerous so they should put up a sign)
ОтветитьElevators are everywhere!
Yes! OPTIONS! Have it how you want it!
Driving in cities SUCKS!
NO U-turns on expressways!
I add to google how do british people say elevators to understand this video and
Pram is stroller.😂😂
It is awesome to see two young people love each other as you two do. And thanks for the videos
ОтветитьLA traffic is the reason I refuse to take a job in LA. I opt for jobs in the OC. Less traffic. Plus I live at the OC border.
ОтветитьHow do you like the Epic driver? I love mine. Calloway should send you some merch for advertising for them
ОтветитьIce -- American restaurants fill your glass with ice that is frozen water taking up space to give you less of the drink. They save money. A large number of us ask for light ice or no ice to get more drink. I can appreciate that you like having a nice cold drink
ОтветитьLA is its own thing. You guys need to watch the Saturday Night Live skits called The Californians. It makes fun of the idea that people in LA talk alot about directions to and from places.
Ответить
