Seeing an animal that 99% of the UK hasn’t #wildlife #britishwildlife

Been a very long time since I’ve seen 1 in the wild used to see them when I was a kid but sadly they are all gone from my area now good to see they are still here in the Uk

Born in Norfolk back in 1962, I recall in the 70s finding a Red Squirrel having some kind of fit on the side of the road, after which the whole population disappeared. Later I heard [rightly or wrongly] that they were decimated by a disease which came with the greys, who inhabited their habitat before the few Red survivors could recover in numbers.

They’re magical

Ive actually seen them more then 5 times among the woods when I was in Scotland for a month.

Grey are vermin while our natives ain't.

We have them at Formby in the north west of England

Love these guys seen them on multiple occasion quit a good population in Anglesey

I live in rural Normandie. We have red squirrels in our garden and orchard. We don't have greys here at all.
