All excellent tips! I'm a firm believer in having a budget and emergency account. I have a friend that doesn't follow a budget or have an emergency fund. She lives pay day to pay day, is always broke a couple weeks after pay day and goes without to the next one. It would be too stressful to live like that for me.

Hey M! ✌You were very spot on with your list and reasonings. Another thing that drives me bonkers is people signing up for a new store credit card at every place they shop at. The annoying thing is that the people who stroll thru life without any sense of responsibility or savings seem to be the ones who always do ok, whereas I am so careful and frugal and stuff goes wrong all the time!!

I agree with alot of your points. Those buy now pay later can be a trap or those rent to own. I’m glad I’ve never been afraid to check my account. I’m definitely guilty of spending money on food and coffee. I used to live by using my envelopes when my husband and I were younger. Now we are just more cautious of where and how we spend our money.

This is so helpful! I’ve really started to get serious with my finances within the past few years. It amazes me how much money I was throwing out the window unknowingly.

I was in consumer debt for 12 years, only paid it off two months ago. Instead of doing buy now pay later I'm trying to save up instead.

I have a spreadsheet that I monitor my spending on.

I like to help others so now I'm out of debt I'm donating more to charity and treating family & friends. As long as I'm not in debt and have emergency savings I'm happy.
