Both Islam and Christianity depend on, grow out of, and incorporate into their religions the Old Testament. All three accept that they worship the "same God" and are "children of Abraham". Admitting Jews have a history in the Middle East pre Islam would be admitting from a historical perspective that a claim by a people predates theirs unless they can establish that they were Canaanites with a religion different than Islam.
