It's always up to the driver using the gap to make sure the road is clear
Fun fact: a flock of flamingos is called a Flamboyance! 😺
ОтветитьWilliam L was driving through street parking spaces. I don’t know about Canadian laws, but in most (all) American cities it’s unlawful to pass stopped traffic by driving through meter/street parking spaces. For example, here in The Dynamo of Dixie, we have TN Code §§ 55-8-101 — 55-8-199 Section 55-8-118, specifically Part B, which states that “In No Event Shall That Movement Be Made By Driving Off The Pavement Or Main Traveled Portion of The Roadway”. In other words, fault for the accident, had contact been made, would’ve been squarely on him. Nobody expects someone to use parking spaces to go around traffic. This was NOT a two lane right of way, it was a one (1) lane right of way with street parking. I believe that, here in TN, you could get a misdemeanor “Without Due Care” citation for that. Like I said, not sure about Canada, but in the US that is illegal.
ОтветитьDude they REALLY need to up the penalty for being uninsured... there are far too many people that get off witha slap on the wrist.
ОтветитьSigh. You ALWAYS SAY don't leave a gap. But you never call out the fact that the driver is at fault for not checking it's safe. close the gap is a dumb saying literally just for dumb drivers. If no gaps were ever open, the entire road would be blocked up in no time. You need to start calling out the idiots just driving into a gap without checking the 2nd lane.
Ответитьerm actually thats a camaro
ОтветитьNo Insurance. WHY aren't these people going to JAIL?
ОтветитьThe correct pronunciation of "Porsche" is "POR-shuh". It's a two-syllable word, with the emphasis on the first syllable. The "e" at the end is pronounced like the "uh" sound in "butter".
While some people shorten it to "Porsch," the official and more accurate pronunciation includes the "uh" sound at the end. This reflects the German origin of the brand and its name.
Not the drivers fault that leaves a space. If people are stupid that’s their problem.
ОтветитьI'll gladly stop for animals in road. Unfortunately Im forced to stop for toilet using people also sometimes.
ОтветитьJames second clip in the episode was a red Camaro SS not a mustang. Y’all out here giving us a worse name when it’s not even us
Ответить“Closing the gap” isn’t needed here in Australia. If one lane leaves a gap, turning drivers know to wait and see if additional lanes also leave a gap. Only when all lanes have come to a stop, leaving a gap in all lanes, does the turning driver turn. No one here is stupid enough to turn when only one lane has a gap. The other alternative (which you suggest), is to close the gap. The problem with that is if all lanes come to a stop, and no gap was left, turning vehicles cannot move and ‘gridlock’ occurs.
I would suggest that the act of leaving a gap is NOT a dangerous act, and in fact IS courteous. Leaving a gap is not dangerous. Turning through a gap when all lanes have not stopped is the ‘dangerous’ act. Talk about diverting blame….
3rd Video: Those Hondas don't hold up well in crashes
ОтветитьWhat happened to the gaps between the videos? You need a couple seconds rather than going straight into the next one. IMHO
ОтветитьScott H the sedan hit the trailer at the end of the clip
ОтветитьLeaving a gap is most times dangerous! The oncoming traffic “should” be more aware and defensive when approaching!!
Take your time when driving, please
I believe William L , is driving in parking spaces!!
There are some town ordinance and laws that require drivers not to illegally block intersections or driveway, causing gridlock. Closing the gap in those case is illegal but every driver using the gap is still responsible to ensure all lanes are clear before proceeding no matter what.
ОтветитьI disagree with your "close the gap" message. You're telling your viewers/drivers to be jerks, preventing people from getting to where they need to go.
ОтветитьKelowna, BC driver here - I've learned not to accept the gap when I want to turn left across 2 or more lanes. People try to be nice letting me go, but if I am not 100% sure both lanes are stopped I am not going anywhere. Thanks but no thanks.
ОтветитьITS PRONOUCED PORSHA
ОтветитьIt's POR-SHUH you RUBE! The e is NOT silent😮
ОтветитьIt is never th fault of the nice people that leave a gap!!
It the fault of the morons that shouldn't have a license, that dont bother LOOKING WHERE THEY ARE GOING!!!
Sorta like the channel, but man, just so dumb!
The name of this vid should have been "close the gap"
ОтветитьThe reason leaving a gap is dangerous is because too many people ASSume that if they can't see car coming in a blind spot, there isn't a car coming in the blind spot. Horrible thinking.
ОтветитьNothing more American than refusing to properly pronounce foreign words.
USA! USA! USA!
how about leaving a gap but checking the other lane before turning?
it works in hungary :D
although driving culture is very different i couldnt imagine turning right on red instead of having roundabouts everywhere
Red Camero*
ОтветитьAnd I will keep saying, leave that gap! It's not your fault that the crossing driver is a bad driver. It can work, just apparently not in the US. Maybe campaign for something resembling actual training for drivers, instead of the joke that might have been appropriate in 1905?
ОтветитьWilliam was not in a lane. He was driving through parking spots
ОтветитьI would sue the heck out of that egomaniac truck driver of the first incident.
Regarding the Robin incident footage, that truck driver pulling the flatbed knew what he was doing, being overly dramatic.
Regarding the William incident, the dashcam driver drove into the parking lane which ended at the incident.
leaving a gap doesn't mean anyone has to drive through it. Everyone drives their own car.
ОтветитьThanks wham baam im learning alot
Ответить#7 The critical mistake is that William was treating the parallel parking spots as a lane.
Ответить#14 is that MD 200 i can tell by the retaining wall
ОтветитьSilavut, that's not CLOSE THE GAP, That's a left turning car. Also, silalut, now you know to NEVER SPEED PAST STOPPED CARS! You don't know why they are stopped, so don't whip around them.
ОтветитьBlame the people illegally and recklessly passing on the right? No, close the gap!
Ответить
