Why do people have names for a single move like "alapin" after c3?

In the list of moves below… there seems to be an error… please advise as to the correct move(s) to make sequence correct.

1. e4 c5 2. c3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. cxd4 d5 5. exd5 Qxd5

When black moves d5 then the e pawn takes, white still has a pawn on d4 after early exchanges, hence Qxd5 is invalid. Or am I missing something? Thank you!
