Did two years in Korea 65-67 got shot up real bad but it was penicillin from those girls down in the ville. No purple heart eve. Good show ---these are some tough muthas.
Ответить40 miles in 20 hours seems a little easy? If you can’t do 40 miles in 20 hours you probably shouldn’t be in the military.
ОтветитьThis guy discussing Delta training makes seal training sound like Air Force boot camp
ОтветитьLove you're interviews man. Thank you.
ОтветитьI was selected by Chuck Norris for Delta Force…. Well to be precise, I was selected for the movie Delta Force. To be even more precise I wasn’t selected for the movie Delta Force.
I’ve never met Chuck Norris, also I’m a liar.
We already clicked the video….quit with the mini-preview at the start for a short clip we’re about to watch anyway.
ОтветитьHe only had to swim 100 meters in uniform & boots.
While the exact time will depend on individual abilities, a time of around 4 minutes for 100 meters in uniform and boots is a reasonable expectation, according to German Armed Forces standards.
Yet he trained until he could swim for 60 minutes to pass a 4 minute test.
This interview is in my top 5. Super humble, nice dude.
ОтветитьIf you fail a pt test on day one at delta force selection thats an issue 😂
ОтветитьI believe there's no single standard for "delta" because life itself is inherently uneven and unstandardized. To be effective, you need to recruit from all segments of society, which means each individual's selection process will naturally be unique.
ОтветитьSounds like the few who will enter Heaven!…thank you sir.
ОтветитьLarry Vickers is a true legend
Ответитьlol. Shhh. Not supposed to talk about Camp Dawson.
ОтветитьOutstanding
ОтветитьHold on a second.... how does a Ranger qualifying for Delta fail a PT day 1? That doesn't sound right.
ОтветитьThere is no way you are going to Delta training today without a Ranger tab... which means you already have Land Nav training. Facts.
ОтветитьPatterned after the SAS that is why the selection is so different from other US SF.
ОтветитьMan… standards so high you don’t even know what they are. Respect. 🫡
ОтветитьAwesome stuff. But I thought the rucking distances and perhaps other standards were supposed to be classified.
ОтветитьPLCD is where I learned land nav, and it was not easy. When I did it there was no gps, I just had a map and compas.
ОтветитьLarry rolled on his buddies to get a lighter sentence. What a phoney.
ОтветитьAh yes Vickers… under investigation by the BATFE for bad machine gun paperwork.
ОтветитьDay One was not an arse kicker…it was a real deal flush out the weak.
18 mile ruck run. Holy crap. If memory serves the annual infantry ruck requirement was a 12 miler. Again could be wrong or it was a semi-annual requirement.
18 miles. Whoa 😳
Larry, hope you are doing well.
ОтветитьServed at Ft. Campbell and was air assault. We had to do a 12 miler in 3 hours with a lot of hills. But it was on a paved path. Couldnt imagine a 40 miler on non paved pathways and cross country, going up WV hills. I live near Camp Dawson, and those are not small hills. Most people that visit me from flat states, call them mountains.
Ответить"Best Land Nav education in the world".........2nd LT still gets lost 🤣
ОтветитьThey still do that test in the legion 2 REP para commando regiment they make American SF look out of shape. That Taylor dude was in a regular foreign legion regiment and deserted. British former SAS soldiers have deserted from 2 REP .
ОтветитьDamn god bless this man. Guys harder than Jocko and Goggins combined.
Ответить"HAVE A GOOD ONE"
ОтветитьComing at this completely from the outside, as a non-trigger pulling squid, and admitting it up front - I can see two reasons for keeping the standards secret. First, it keeps the trainees on edge and always pushing to do their best. This gives the selectors a better picture of what the candidate can do. Second, doing so allows the Selection Sargeant Major and Commander to allow a candidate just a little slack in one area if they are a rock star in another. My thinking here is that Delta goes in as a team after carefully assigning individuals to specific tasks in an operation. Just a thought.
ОтветитьShame on you, Larry.
ОтветитьTo keep digging deep, when there are no other options, Never Quit!
ОтветитьThe best thing is, you look at this MAN and think he is an older fat person. What you don’t know is that he is a WAR WIZARD.
ОтветитьWhen I was in 3rd Ranger Battalion, one of the Forward Observers an E-7 I believe went through the Delta selections, during the rucksack march his backpack rubbed through his skin until his back was profusely bleeding. He was only a mile from completion, and still determined to finish when the instructor flagged him out. Great story Sir! 🫡
ОтветитьI wish I was only so tough thanks
ОтветитьWhich military group doesn't get land nav at the start of their military journey?
ОтветитьWhy does Shawn sit with his legs crossed like a woman?
Never in my life has that EVER been comfortable. If youve got a twig n berries, sitting like that makes no sense.
You have my upmost respect. Thankyou for your service. Ranger 4-68.
ОтветитьThe most full on ex operators are mid aged, going grey and working hard on a gut. Ask me how I know....
ОтветитьShawn should get some SAS dudes on and talk about that selection process. Delta are gnarly but they also have all the resources in the world. SAS have to operate on survival
ОтветитьThis guy does not strike me as in shape alpha male. He would still probably run circles around me LOL
ОтветитьShawn's mind being blown hearing that selecting elite troopers doesn't always involve killing people via hypothermia.
ОтветитьMy knees hurt just watching this.
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьSome good info
ОтветитьThe 40 miler??👉🏽
ОтветитьReal live Jason Bourne's!!
ОтветитьThere are Men RIGHT NOW going through selection. Pray for the best who shall pass.
ОтветитьShawn, get jimmy dore on to talk about corruption in politics
ОтветитьThe baddest of the bad 💪, thankgod for you guys
Ответить
