My biggest question is "Why?" Why are they redoing something that isn't even 25 years old yet? What's wrong with the original films? They're the most popular films of the 21st century right up there with the LotR and Matrix films. The only thing that can come of this is that they will end up ruining everything. I can't believe Rowling would make the same mistake Lucas made with Star Wars by giving over creative rights to someone else.

Who cares for this movie at this point. I will refuse to watch this, with or without Snape or this new Hermione. The story is well written but the moral of the story is deeply anti European. In the final analysis , people like Rowling are instruments of the dark side. At least the results of her agenda imply this much. Why else would she indirectly promote race mixing when white people (like her and those Germans that she clearly hate ) are a minority in the world ? To sell more books? Well, she sold her soul - before accusing Voldemort.

I have no problem with the casting. I watched her audition tape and she does really well. I don't think she's a race swap either, I don't know what her ethnic background is but "white" people aren't necessarily pasty as hell, I know plenty of "white" people who are darker than supposedly "brown" people so eh. I don't think Hermione being pale was a big big part of her character so yeah, no problem with her casting.... Snape on the other hand.... yeah... nah... atrocious... and an American Dumbledore???

Hey I won't take any Hermione hate. She looks so perfect and WAYY more book accurate then Emma Watson's Hermione. Especially since they've been advertising this series as extremly book accurate it works really well. She's like 1 SHADE DARKER and its barley a noticeable difference,. She looks gorgeous and I'm sure shell crush the role. I don't at all think this affects the connotation behind the word mudblood since its used against many different types of people throughout the story. SHE LOOKS GREAT AND IS BOOK ACCURATE K ❤! Snape on the other hand... ooh they screwed up big time with Snape 😬. Out of all the teachers to make black, they choose SNAPE I mean come onnn. I mean Harry walks into school and he immediately find the only black teacher there suspicious. Also the bullying Snape in the past now looks supper bad as well yikes. It is a real shame. I consider myself a Potter nerd. I have read the books over and over, I have read the books to my kids and my kids have read them to theirs. I will not be watching, in fact I have killed off my HBO sub because of this bullshit. The one character, the fucking one character that needed to remain true to the source material is Snape. Here we are back to the definition of insanity. Also while they are at it, they should just gender swap all the characters just for the hell of it. I'm not really seeing what people's issue is with this Hermione. She doesn't look particularly "non-white" at all, at least to me. She looks to me like a Caucasian with a slight tan, maybe some form of Mediterranean like Italian or something? (Which is still considered "white" by most, btw.) Definitely not black or Indian or anything else that would wildly differ from how readers of the original books imagined her. I'm 100% on board with criticizing Snape's casting, but those who are throwing a tantrum over Hermione's casting seem to be taking it a little too far, as if anything other than pallid, pasty-white is too much for them to handle.
