The only thing holding me back from buying this is the price for the quality. When I see cheap plastic parts, cheaper nylon padding, etc. it just makes me feel it is not a piece that will last for the long haul. I could see them upgrading a lot of the cheap parts and releasing some sort of higher quality version...
ОтветитьI think it's good for it's niche, but I think I'd rather get a solid reverse hyper/GHR combo. back extensions can be done in racks if you have the right attachments. And yes I used to feel like wolverine in my 20s vs my 30s lol.
ОтветитьIn my opinion is this only a space wasting object.
ОтветитьWhat's the difference between a Nordic and GHD? They're essentially the same movement , right?
ОтветитьAppreciate the additional notes in your vide description. Can't wait to get one of these.
ОтветитьThe knurling is there to make sure you don't slip on the step. Especially if sweat gets on it.
ОтветитьYou might be able to cross your arms with your cables like a mummy instead of curling. Or maybe a vest cable attachment if you have one.
ОтветитьThanks for the review Matt! Love seeing a few perspectives on products id love in my small home gym. Right now im making due with a rickety fold up hyperextension that i havent trusted to do weighted extensions with. This ones a distant dream for now haha
ОтветитьMore parts more problems
ОтветитьBought mine back in January and it's great especially for the the space it uses. Mine came with a lifetime warranty but purchases after March were given a 2-yr warranty. You did a great job with showing how it can mesh with other equipment to increase the effectiveness of hip thrusts.
ОтветитьI'm the 30+ crowd 😢, and I'm gonna buy this just for the hyper extension and nordics.
ОтветитьMouse Rat 😂
ОтветитьOne of your best reviews! I love the well thought out review with the thorough cuts of it in use.
ОтветитьBut what good is a bench that can't do flat and inclined bench presses, or chest supported rows?
ОтветитьWith this, some type of hack/press leg machine, and a cable/functional style machine you'd have one killer home gym. All you'd need is scantily clad women setting up cameras everywhere for attention and you'd have everything you can get out of a commercial gym!
ОтветитьGreat review. I have one on pre order with the leg extension attachment. I got it for space savings.
That is what you’re paying for. To do everything it does half way decently and needing less storage
space than a garbage can in my garage has plenty of value. I can’t understand why they were so cheap as not to send you the leg extension to review. They are spending a fortune on advertising the
leg extension on you tube.
I am hoping over time they add a pad attachment that can make it so it can also replace an actual adjustable bench. Personally for me that would be a game changer. But honestly all the innovations and ideas they came up with are impressive. So cool to see it in the home gym community. Thanks for the review
ОтветитьLove the content! I have the Ares 2.0 coming in and was hoping that using the low row cables would supplement the resistance for reverse hypers. If you do come up with a more comfortable to do then, please share!
ОтветитьThank you for your review! I’ve been wanting to add to our home gym but can’t get buy in from my husband. I want it for the back extensions and additional leg workouts, including hypers. Of note, I’m over 50 and love lifting weights🎉
ОтветитьIt’s a relatively new company. I’d expect a rapid innovation cycle for the first couple of years as they refine the features and quality. The upper body exercises off the leg attachment feels a bit gimmicky to me. I’d rather have a refined adjustable bench with a seat attachment like the Iron master for Incline bench and a back pad extension for sit-ups. Allows me to have a solid flat bench and then use FA Pro for everything else.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьDid the idea of selling your leg extension and getting the one for this cross your mind? Or do you think it would add too much set up time to doing leg extensions?
I'm at the stage where if i want to add equipment, I have to remove equipment too. Running out of space... For me the easiest thing to remove for this would probably be my leg extension, but i also worry about set up time and making my workouts take longer
LOVE this review man. Very well done!
ОтветитьVery useful review. I liked that you mentioned the 30+ (or 40+ in my case) issue. That's exactly the reason I thought about buying it. I have no injuries, but prehab gets more and more important. Main usage would be Hyperextensions, Nordics and Reverse hypers for me. And the latter holds me back from buying, 'cause it just doesn't work good enough for that. So the reason remaining for buying the bench would mainly be the hyperextensions, no real need for the other stuff. This and the not too convincing quality led me to the decision, not to buy it. I'll wait for a bigger player with less, but better thoughthrough options. I presume most ppl. mainly want nordics, hyperext. and weighted reverse hypers. These options in a good, sturdy, high quality machine and I'll buy it immediately.
Ответитьfor me it's for volleyball and cause imma get older anyways
ОтветитьGreat review! I just got mine a couple months ago and have been loving it. They’re shipping the leg dev at the end of October - kind of excited.
ОтветитьDude i was so glad you did a review on this unit, I'm gonna pull the trigger
Ответитьmy bro is going downhill at 30, lol
ОтветитьGreat example of using cables for rev hypers. I was on fense of buying 'cause of poor Rev hyper and thought the cables would work. U showing it was SUPER HELPFUL! Nice job
ОтветитьReverse Hyper Add On would be awesome!
Besides for the back extensions and your cable option: Just use a normal handle and kind of zercher it. This turned out quite nice in my homegym set up :)
You could probably use Monkey Feet/Ankr for the hyperextensions
ОтветитьCan this be used in lieu of a normal bench?
ОтветитьI think 32-36 is prime for most male athletes
ОтветитьYeah I dont know what youre talking about bro, 30 is the new 20
ОтветитьSo… I currently have a dedicated Back Hyperextension and a Dedicated Adjustable Sit-up Bench/Slant Board in my home gym. I have no problem with either but am looking to possibly be downsizing and moving to a lot smaller place. What I am researching, and it appears that I may be able to make it happen is if I’ll be able to replace both of those with one of these units as well as add in some additional functionality.
I intend to keep a minimal amount of my equipment but most of it will unfortunately have to go if I downsize. I hope something like this may keep me able to work out at home.
I understand that Coop’s obsession with knurling everything is kind of obnoxious, but honestly it makes sense here. The purpose of knurling is to prevent things from slipping, so it makes sense to put it on a narrow peg that is used to climb on and off the machine. Would not feel good if your foot slipped off and the peg smashed into your shin.
ОтветитьGreat review. The only thing I’m interested in is the Leg Developer. Is there a standalone plate-loaded one as good as this one (per Coop/Gluck) that isn’t too big in terms of footprint and price?
ОтветитьI preferred mouse rat's stuff back when they were scarecrow boat, but it is better than their threeskin era
Ответитьcan it do bench press
ОтветитьI ordered this a month ago. FreakAthlete shipped it in a timely manor. Fedex delivered it to someone else's house. I contacted Fedex and they confirmed it was their mistake, but told me to contact the shipper for remediation. I have been unable to get anyone from Freak Athlete on the phone or email in two weeks. I'm concerned that this company is a sham.
ОтветитьGreat review. Gonna get it someday. Cause I'm getting also not younger and want to regain some twentys vibes in my late 30s 😅.
One thing: your hyper extentions. You slightly overextend and that's not good for your spine. So go not overextended. This is a no no movement. Keep going!
Recent subscriber. Have watched many of your videos back to back so far. Thank you for great content! I have been eyeballing this bench, but the only room I would have, is if it can also replace my leg ext/curl machine (same one you have). That's my only hesitation. Well, that and the price and I still need more plates. Lol
ОтветитьFWIW I've been in poor shape virtually my entire life and I didn't really feel the downhill slide until my 40s (when my eyesight went) and more recently in my 50s (when everything started to go). Fortunately I've started to turn it around, motivated by my son (who's in very good shape and has done strength training for years) and channels like yours. Thanks for all of your tips and advice, it really does help.
