Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - Deviljho Monster Guide

I'd add some info, above and beyond what Michael R added below.

One, Tremor Res is great, especially if you're a blademaster. Get it, love it, get a lot more opportunities to hit the thing.

Two, Deviljho is tremendously weak to poison. It has very low resistance to it, and takes about 8 damage a second from it (360 damage over 45 seconds), according to Kiranico (and my own experience backs up that this sucker dies fast when using a poison weapon). As an added bonus, as a status ailment, poison is completely location-agnostic and works well even if you're hitting it in the legs, where it doesn't take a lot of elemental damage. This is especially useful if you're trying to solo the Deviljho; in a group, any more than one person using a poison weapon is probably overkill. As an example, a Deadly Poison (Ioprey SnS, 322 atk, 280 poison, three slots, long white sharpness, available in early G rank) is an excellent answer to Deviljhos invading your expeditions right from the beginning of G rank; being an SnS, the shield will probably save your life more than once, and it'll let you keep the monster poisoned basically constantly in addition to very respectable raw damage for its weapon type, ease of acquisition, and the time at which it becomes available.

could you give some tips on the new Najarala? I don't have a ton of trouble with it, but I could use some ideas on how to avoid its attack where it coils around you.

I'm having trouble with this guy. Trying to solo him on a G-rank guild quest with vayu sedition. I can do it but my hunt times are crap (around 30 mins). Been trying to get the crook so I can finish a set. Any advice?

First time you fight Deviljho in HR, Stygian Zinogre armor is almost perfect. Dragon resist and skills like Dragon Attack and Evasion.

Deviljho's weaknesses to dragon and thunder are actually the same even when enraged.

I'm planing on doing a deviljho hunt and i'm hr 4 see I have to do sootsone ores but a stupid deviljho keeps messing up the quest! I'm planing on getting rid of the deviljho before getting the crystals now so are there any recomended armor set's???

You know what can make Deviljho laughably easy? Guard lancing. Deviljho has no attacks (at least in High Rank) that can go through a Lance's or Gunlance's guard. My first Deviljho hunt (the 9 star Frenzied one for Caravan) took me seven minutes with guard Gunlancing. I'm not brave enough to try any other way

So a tip for Dual blades users try to to bring the Stygian Zinogre dualblades it has Dragon and Thunder element and he's weak to both which is really good but you need tetsu parts,low rank Zinogre, high rank Zinogre, and Stygian Zinogre parts

Apex Deviljo is the reason why I can't finish the last singleplayer Quest, he is awful, the breath isn't really a problem, but he often pin me on the ground, I can't have so many dung bombs to save me every time, and his melee attacks are awful.
