Rodgers was coming off a torn Achilles that caused him to miss a full season, so he actually played well under those circumstances. I don't understand why everyone talks about his time with the Jets and they just ignore that fact. The Jets were stupid to let him go in my opinion because he showed that he could still play at a high level despite missing the full season due to an Achilles injury. Now, we got him in front of Will Howard and I think Rodgers will be fine if he stays healthy. The Jets blew a number of games last year due to the defense and Rodgers struggled a bit, but wasn't bad at all, especially coming off a serious injury. So, I can see him doing well with the Steelers and if he does, and they make a deep playoff run (which they can), I can see him come back.

Rogers is our best option considering Wilson and Fields could not be secured. Between him and Mason Rudolph the choice is obvious. In the meantime, we can keep our options open for next season see if we can find a more long-term solution or if we can develop Howard into an NFL caliber QB. I'm cautiously optimistic about Will Howard because while he has the size of Josh Allen coming out of the draft he's still unproven.
