Hi, is there any way to focus the flames on the Iwatani 35FW for use with a round bottom wok? (ideally there should be a single flame coming up into the center of the wok)

Is there such an item, as a gas canister case/ container for storing canisters in.

Do these simmer good, I.e. cooking converted rice and veggies? (Chiefly for power outages that last for a while)

Smaller, 750 ml pots, and a griddle now and then…

i love mine but i duno about 2 cans a week. Its a bit overkill. even tho they are only a few bucks each. I wouldnt want to full time use it if its more than 1. maybe im just not good with it yet. need more practice.

Question here: I was looking to purchase this exact model for indoor use in my home kitchen because I have recently gotten into cooking a lot more Chinese food at home and even bought a new wok but I only have an electric stove and I'm just simply not getting the stir frying results that I'm looking for. The wok I bought recommended using a gas burner of 14000 btu for the best results. So my question is, would this be safe to use it at home in my kitchen?

How does it work with 12" pans.
I'm using hexclad. There's so much metal.
I'm 90% sure it will work fine

So... Iwatani says it only works with their own cans... But you're using a generic butane can in this video, correct? That works just as well from what I see? Great video!! Thank you so much.

How long does one can last? Such as how many times could I cook a proper meal before I need to change cans? I definitely want one, but I'm just trying to gage my cooking process so as not to run out right in the middle of cooking. That would suck big time considering I plan on going places where stores won't be convenient to get to...let alone actually have what I need.

iwatani butane is like $8 each; apparently they will eject themselves when too hot. but i wasnt clear regular canisters will work. are there any gotcha's?

Can this model take any type of standard butane canister? ...i mean can it take the the typical canisters you whould find at hardware stores or is it a branded canister....hope this makes sence.

Fixing the ignition system: think of the 'igniter' as the spark plug on a gasoline engine. That white piece is probably ceramic, being used as an electrical insulator. If it gets covered in grease and/or carbon it will break down electrically, and the igniter will not spark............just the same as a car spark plug.
So.... always keep that clean, and it will work, so long as the piezo unit works. If you can see marks on the insulator consistent with electrical tracking.... the insulator is ruined and needs replacement. In an emergency you could grind or scrape the tracking marks off the insulator, with a reasonable chance of making it work......but replace it asap (the insulator and whatever comes with it, if it is a a pre-assembled complete unit)

Thanks for the review, the stove look good, I like that it is made out of aluminum and not sheet metal. How is it holding up, do you still have it? I worry there maybe a cold spot in the center as the flames seems to shoot off to the side.

There is no simmer for this beast. It works great and everything cooks quickly because of the 15,000 BTU's, so watch how you cook on this thing. I would use this for a wok, like fried rice.

A word to the wise in regard to quality.
You can buy cheap and replace shorty after or spend a little extra and get quality that will perform and last.

Buy once, cry once.
Buy twice, cry twice.
The choice is yours.
