Thanks for posting 😊. I remember IT.
ОтветитьBeautiful survivor K100 and trailer!
The dashboard has a very full set of gauges.
Awesome 😎
ОтветитьVIT interior!
ОтветитьI remember fueling the I T trucks at Bears Truck Stop in Belgrade Mt in the 70's before I became a Trucker
ОтветитьNIIICE! That CAT 3408 was a beast back in the day. It's cool that everything's original. However, I would love to see that thing restored! So much potential and so many different directions you could do with that truck! Nice interview! Thank you Red!
ОтветитьBeautiful old KW COE. I drove a few of those in the late 70s.
ОтветитьRed👍👍👍
ОтветитьLove the steering wheel!
Top of the line!
Seeing that old girl in IT colors brings back some good memories ,keep on doing what you do Red
Ответить👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьA nice k w nice k w one hundred
ОтветитьThose were the days I had a great time with alot of good people.don lake 178
ОтветитьGreat find, I was a contractor at Schneider Specialized from '92 to '95. Loved pulling flatbed. Sad to see Schneider sell the Specialized to Maverick. Red, this is your second interview on a flat top Kenworth double bunk. The other was Steve Crook in Ashland. Great video. Keep the good work.
ОтветитьYou know the Livery on this truck reminds me of the Livery on those old Mayflower Moving and delivery trucks you used to see in the 70s and 80s when I was young that green and yellow color is very similar to what I remember
ОтветитьWow, nice rig!
ОтветитьInternational Transport 👍Those were the days. Never late V-8. Had one just like it. I was leased to United Van Lines at the time Coast to Coast.
ОтветитьBeautiful love the gauge package
ОтветитьG'day Red,
Absolutely awesome just needs a bullbar and you would think it is a Aussie Kenworth.
Twin stacks and twin air intakes that's how we do it here in Australia.
V8 Cat in a Cabover how rare, they exist here in Australia but I was told less than 20 Cabover Kenworth were build with V8 Cats here in Australia.
Cheers
Louis Kats from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺
V.I.T. = Very Important Trucker.
ОтветитьMy 82 had the same colour interior, though the dash was updated that year and the fresh air intake moved from the front right corner panel to
a drop down scoop that was between the right headlight panel and the top of the bumper. What the heck were they thinking ? When you pulled
into a dusty yard, and the HVAC fan was on high, the dust would get scooped up through the vent ducts blow out the vents. Trucking in Canada
or anywhere you encounter mosquitoes, I’d have to cover the scoop with a plastic shopping bag, as the mosquitoes would find there way up
there and get into the cab. I killed over 30 in there one night. How are you supposed to sleep restfully with that going on night after night.
Drove that truck for 26 years. It’s being fully restored by a new owner at this time. The 3408 was a boat anchor, to heavy for most bulk moves,
and cost a fortune to repair or rebuild. I see this truck has an aluminum frame. Nice to see it in its original form, paint scheme too. Besides
I T, Dallas and Mavis had a large flat deck operation. 70’s and 80’s were the golden era of trucking. Deregulation had its drawbacks, but if you
where a asphalt tramp, your operational range became limitless. Trucks where still custom built to the customers area regs, not like the cookie
cutter one size fits all trucks you see out there now. The whole country has lost its local identity, we’ve all been absorbed by big box saturation.
Thank you for keeping this old girl original, it’s a badge of honour. Ps, I went through 3 steering wheels, two seats, 3 mattresses, and 3 odometers.
When you opened the drivers door, it was like I was climbing back up into Ms Brown. Been with that truck longer than most marriages last.
I knew Bob Lindstrom when he ran the Schneider terminal in Cold Spring, MN
ОтветитьLove the stainless steel visor & the k.w. air bonnett
ОтветитьLooking good, Phil 😎👍! Great to hear the history. See you at Madison! Thanks, Red!
ОтветитьBeautiful truck
ОтветитьI worked with Gene Blaize at Whayne Supply when he owned this truck. Great truck and a great guy!
