How does being a summer analyst help you get recruited at an IB firm?

I made the switch from big 4 M&A to a boutique IB in the US as an associate and not gonna lie, being on call 24/7 kinda sucks.

My initial plan was doing something like you - IB—> PE — but I am not too sure I wanna sacrifice so much of my time anymore and always being on call.

As a VP you must very be involved in the decision making of whether to take on a project or not. Can you provide (in high level) a list of different factors you consider when underwriting RE deals and how you go about adding these thoughts into quantitative data which is factored into the model?
