How thick do you leave the edge?

What is the thickness of it at the, 1, tang, and 2, at the front. Also, what was the total of the blade (the cutting edge).

Just out of curiosity, because I know absolutely nothing about forging, why did you hammer out a ridge in your previous video only to file it flat in this one?

Hoq do you determine segment to thickness ratio? Looking into making one myself pretty soon. Are there any books or sources you recommend?
