I once listed as the 3 greatest songs of the era, Free Bird, Stairway to Heaven, and Layla. I still hold to that. :)
ОтветитьMakes me want to go out and buy a glass medicine bottle, and then spend a year practicing.
ОтветитьThe amount of music he produces with his magical fingers is unbelievable
ОтветитьNot going to hear anything as fierce at a Clapton the Theif show. All hail allmanns
ОтветитьSusan Tedeschi is badass too!
ОтветитьMajestic...
ОтветитьGreat band Great song but to fast .
ОтветитьSublime!
ОтветитьWhen Duane, I mean Derek started hitting those high notes....omg
ОтветитьWhen I first went to college in Gainesville, FL in 1974, someone had spray-painted on a wooden fence "Remember Duane Allman". I have followed that command all my life.
ОтветитьTrey and Derek on the ending...I'd call that magic. :)
ОтветитьSeeing comments that this was a better rendition??
NO
Nice effort, but zero chance.
Do your homework
That is incredible. There's hope
ОтветитьWell I have to say the original is safe. But. This is a great version - it is unique and well done
ОтветитьPeople always wonder what Duane Allman would sound like if he was still alive, listen to Derek Trucks and you'll know!!!!
ОтветитьAWESOME
Ответить👍
ОтветитьAt the beginning of the solo, he sounds like Clapton!...
ОтветитьTrucks is the man - modern genius. I love hit take on every classic they cover
I know that not everyone agrees, but i think he is a special talent
Not only incredible, but Trey Anastasio as backup/rhythm? Derek Trucks it the real deal. Amazing.
ОтветитьGlad to see that teenager I saw all those years ago made a name
ОтветитьIncredible
ОтветитьI had the honor of seeing young Derek play live in 1992. He was the sweetest, most humble and polite young man. Loved watching him play! His uncle Butch Trucks had booked him in Atlanta. The entire family loaded themselves in an old school bus after the show was over to drive to another show somewhere in the Carolina’s. The conversation I was able to have with 14-15 year old Derek was great. I could tell he already had an incredible head in his shoulders. I never dreamed he’d do as great as he has——I’m so happy for him—-seeing him live his passion. One wise, old soul! He’s had a truly amazing life!🙏♥️🙏
ОтветитьWhenever Derek plays Duane licks it always feels like the real deal. Today he grew out of it and became a big influence on his own, but he always will be a child of the Allman's family blessed with a touch of Duane's soul.
ОтветитьBest version of the ending outro!
ОтветитьBest f'n version of Layla ever !!!
ОтветитьBadass.
ОтветитьAlmost got Clapton $😮
ОтветитьDwayne Allman is looking down and saying "Damn, that boy can play!"
ОтветитьSuperhuman
ОтветитьSounded hurried in a few spots, but gotta tell ya - their version sounded better live than the original did in a studio. Well, 'cept did miss Duane's bird sounds at the end there, always liked Duane's lil bird sounds on his slide. Otherwise: D. Trucks Rules!! (plus believe this version had horns that gave it a Way fuller sound; I say)
ОтветитьSo so good…
ОтветитьI cannot imagine that song being played any better than this
ОтветитьI love this so much!!! For ever❤
And i love everybody who loves it too ❤
He made that guitar sing. One of the most outstanding live guitar performances I’ve ever seen. A master at work
ОтветитьWhen in Italy ?
ОтветитьWho’s you would come to Vancouver Canada
ОтветитьWow! Excellent.
ОтветитьIncredible sound!!!!!!
ОтветитьMy brother-Doug Sani- was your biggest fan! Thanks for coming to his memorial service. It meant a lot to us all.
ОтветитьI loved this tune from the time it came out, but this version as it moves along just gets a little too "busy" for me.
ОтветитьWhere the vid of him doing the intro w a cigarette on his guitar
ОтветитьTheir mix person didn’t do this justice, hearing it live was the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life
ОтветитьTrucks in my humble opinion is the best ever 👍🏴
ОтветитьI love the original version of this but the album recreation like this whole album is even better. Even though ones live and ones not but i do love the studio album with Duane and Eric but this has a whole different life to it. Eric and Duane are great but Duane was not on Laylas live versions and Eric does Layla great live but not with the same passion and emotion as TTB and Trey
