The fact that Lafayette gets imprisoned, sees all his friends die (he was the last to die out of the four of them) and dies of pneumonia absolutely breaks my heart. I mean imagine freeing America and going to France to go do your job just to find out that a friend dies (John Lauren’s my child 😢)that people are rioting against aristocrats for no reason, making you either die or go to prison. Then, you get freed 3 years later to your king being dead and there is still rioting. And then one of your closest friends (Alexander Hamilton) dies just as you’re recovering and before you can ever breathe, your last two true friend (Jefferson yes they were actually good friends and Mulligian) dies.

I mean at that point, what would you do? Stuck in France, all your friends are dead and no true happiness anymore.
