Improved FG Knot

Really well done instructional video. Now I just need to convert metric to imperial. Just redid all my 60lb braid to 150lb mono topshot. Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Briggsy mate, no matter what what I do when I go to cinch my knot down it always snaps about 6mm from the start of the wraps. I’m using 130lb black magic mono to 40lb tasline. I can barley break the braid when pulling it with my gloves but when I tie the knot looks mint but when I pull it up always breaks there any ideas?

Beautiful video mate, i do mine almost the same but with a half hitch after the fg to hold it before tying the rizzuto to pull back into it. Genius idea to tie it loose and slide up to the burnt bowl rather than trying to burn it close to the braid thanks for sharing will be doing this in the future for sure. Also when i burn my braid tag down i wet my index and thumb with spit helps protect the braid being all wet and can get it nice and tight.

I still remember trying your FG knot version yearsss ago. never failed me once. i reckon it is a bit harder to tie on 10lb braided line, but never has this knot failed me. I mean, I got snagged and broke my hook, but the knot stood. will definitely try the improved version on the GT's around Mauritius Island. cheers mate.

Finally nailed a good FG with a rissuto finish instead of half hitches. Beats the old double uni Banga

i dont burn it at all even when i think its a smooth edge it CAN cut the braid!!! for me i dont burn it at all otherwise perfect

Thanks for the video. I am having real trouble with 30lb FC leader just buckling and not allowing the braid wraps to place. Will this technique work for light leader material 10-30lb mono/FC and braid at 20lb?

the whole point to spending the extra 5 to ties an FG is that its a smooth tapered transition. What in the fuck is this.

ive always followed your firs tfilm about the fg knot relgiously with the whole 20 wrap thing, then i saw brooksy calling you schits about it so i stopped following the tutorial and starting make 25-30wrap fg, God was it wind knot town. you make this video and then i go back to 20wrap, not a sing know in a 7 hour session. youre a legend mate

Well shot as always, definitely makes it nuch easier for a beginner to learn. Ive tried this a bunch of times but unfortunately rhe loose method doesnt work for me for very light lines , PE 0.6 to 4-8lb leaders, you just cant keep it loose enough to slide down.

Carp angler from the Netherlands here, ive used your (old) FG for a while now, love it! Its just super scaled down, 30lb braid and 45lb leader, thanks alot for this great knot video!

From time to time i had problems with the rizutto finish slipping down the end and untangling the knot. Any Suggestions? Or just pull harder on the braids when tightening it down at the end?
