This movie is completely scientifically accurate. You see according to The Theory of Pulmomutis all actions taken by a moon cause interolibreism, or forced pressure diverted away from the atmosphere into the planet. Now before I graduated Stulus Nulla Cum Laude from Havard I never knew most things but a child would know this movie is completely true. No exceptions. Anyways what’s 1 + 1? Oh right 889-99 + 7% of 1,7765^ 23 = [x]<3.

i LOVE THIS!! I thought about this the FIRST time I saw The 5th Element (just not so in depth lol)! I thought "but wouldn't this still be bad anyway??" lol and here we go, someone actually did an in depth video about it!! I love this!! This is my favorite video of yours by far!! Overthinkers unite! HA!

Obviously Scotty, your postulate that Mr Shadow had mass is munted. None of these badnessnesses actually happened in the movie. As corroborating evidence, you can see it slowed immediately, and thus had no inertia. Suspend your disbelief, young man. The ultimate weapon might have left it there to remind humans not to be naughty, no more.

No, you were right in your first interpretation: a floating cork. It wouldn't do for Lelu not to save the world through her magical power of love. Hence, that power must do whatever is needed to save the earth. And thus, it must do exactly what you suggested in the first place, if it doesn't entirely annihilate it from existence --which love doesn't do, but does transform. Therefore, your very first interpretation was the correct one and all the rest just the joy of mental masterbation, however scientifically fun that may be. 😀

I did some quick math and if all the fresh water on earth was used to make up the 60% of a human body that is water. the earth could be used to create Approximately 909 quadrillion people. but they would have only the salt water oceans to drink and the land would be a dry wasteland. still suits I guess? the math for keeping enough crops and livestock alive to feed people as well as allow them to drink water is too hard so do a video about it I guess?

Yes, really bad things would happen like mega tsunamis and earthquakes all over the planet and almost definitely all life would end, but I don't think anyone or anything would float towards the evil planet because Earth gravity still would be stronger, and things tend go to where gravity is stronger. Being more lighter because of the counter gravity, definitely.
But the tech in the Fifth Element is very advanced, so let's imagine they towed away the evil planet before some bad stuff could happen, and Leeloo and Dallas lived happily ever after. 😁

Since the film states that the world is saved, I'm gonna go with scenario 3, which you forgot to mention. It isn't either heavenly body stays in orbit or falls to earth. I would argue that it is highly unlikely the beam had only up to the energy needed to bring the object to a halt. It's far more likely that the distance mentioned was the closest Mr. Shadow gets to Earth, not its final position. I'm guessing the beam had enough energy to push the object out of orbital range, and the writers didn't find it necessary to have an irrelevant info dump after the climax of the film. So, while I respect the amount of work you did on this theory, I have to wholeheartedly disagree with your conclusion

I think there is less water on Earth during this time. I remember reading from the creator of this that the reason you see New York City as basically a hive city is that with global warming, they just moved water to other planets, so there is now less water and more land and Earth sources it's water supply form comets. And like a few others have said, there is enough "tech" that as soon as it was smacked stationary, the starfleet would of just started moving it, but I'm sure some damage would of been done before they did

Never cared that much for the fifth element. I keep watching it thinking this is the time I'll like it, but it never happens. It's like a hot girl who's bad in bed, at least IMO. I enjoyed your take on the end, never thought about that. It's more fun to hear critique from fans than haters like myself.

Wouldn't all of these doomsday events have happened already at this point?

Like if any planetary object 2% bigger than the moon, got ... almost 4000x closer than the moon, wouldn't they have already been screwed before they save the planet and ... screwed?

And also! How fast was Mr. Shadow moving? Wouldn't there have been some serious structural consequences if something that large, moving at what one can assume is extreme speeds stopped so abruptly? ...

I'm starting to think this wasn't a documentary anymore guys...
