I don’t understand why they didn’t put an antennae on the controller. That is likely most of the problem. That and the tether being tangled up, although that shouldn’t cause the loss of signal since it’s a hard connection, not a WiFi or Bluetooth connection. Until they put at least one antennae, and preferably two antennae’s on the controller, it’s really going to limit distance.

I don’t know how, even with that bottom on, how it’s going to keep the tether from unraveling. I have a 100ft electric cord on something similar, and it will unravel from all directions, but if you are standing holding it, the loops will fall off the bottom just by weight alone. It needs to be threaded through like a hole with rollers on each side, so it doesn’t come unraveled. I may be completely wrong, because I just found your videos on the Gladious today, and have only viewed the unpacking, the search for your Mavic, and the night video in Hawaii and this one.

I live in Kauai you should try coming here it would be better lots of shaks

why do you need to have the drone attached to a rope?

Hey Dustin question please. How do you change the focus point? I received the drone after waiting over a year for it but it only focuses on objects 4 inches away. pressing on the screen to change the focus point does nothing. I can’t seem to get ahold of customer service either so I’m hoping you figured it out. Thank you!

Dustin l just recieved my Gladius today and viewing your video. I know you were disappointed on several instances esp. when the buoy connection came a loose. Do you know if the company addressed and improved on those issues?

I just bought a Gladius Advanced... hello Dustin, don't you find the focus and quality of the camera disappointing? Still images /photos are really bad as well as the video quality. The video camera's focus seems like near sighted. Your thoughts on this please.

It's great that you can go back and inspect your own buoy like that. All it needs is a couple of small robot arms on the front of the Gladius and you could have untangled it remotely haha. Might be worth an accessory of a seperate float cradle for the reel so that it is kept totally out of the water as it unravels. But I'm not sure of the practicality of having the reel floating 100m away from you while you remain on shore anyway. Seems like it's a recipe for losing the entire setup if the buoy drifts beyond wifi range.

I love the way you keep getting distracted from your experiments by the sheer beauty of what's around you. 🤗

The connection was probably messing up because your son would have been in the way of the signal if he is between you and the bouy

Hi Dustin! I'm really amazed with the clarity and sharpness of this video. I went to Hong Kong recently and had my defective unit replaced with a new one. I just removed the front rubber protecting the lens of the Gladius Advanced, I don't see any thread to screw in the red filter... how did you attach your red filter and what diameter? They say 49mm, but how did you attach your red filter to the ring? Diameter you used?

Might have better luck with the wifi connection if you turn off your cellular connection, don't know if you did that or not. I've had issues at least with my phone getting a stable connection to video streaming devices over wifi

I ordered mine September 26/18
It hasn’t shipped yet due to customs and China’s national ? That was the reply I got in an email.

What would be perfect is to have a retractable cord setup. like the kind they have in the old Electrolux vacuum cleaners. only it would need to have sensors to be able to make sure their was never too much slack or too much tension.

You would think that the camera on this ROV, which is designed specifically for use underwater, would have color correction built into it, or at least come with its own color correction filters with how expensive it is.

Don’t worry about it brother if that was me I would’ve smashed that fucking remote aginst the rocks and left that piece of shit floating out there ... next i would’ve contacted whoever manufactures that thing and tell them that their product sucks... The only good thing about the damn thing is the 4K camera you got some pretty decent footage 20 seconds at a time before it would disarm.... Anyway thanks for the review... buyer beware

Going at this rate that drone and everything it came with will all be duct taped to keep it all from falling apart after 3 or 4 uses

It seems to be a very good underwater drone , beautiful image , good stabilisation system , good maneuverability , but the big downside is the wifi connection that keeps disconecting all the time and a lack of qualité (spool) . You did review many underwater drones ! To you which one is the best, thanks dustin for all your videos!,,
