Good information, the comparison of ABRP and Google Maps.
What happens if you press the eye icon (the mode button)?
With ABRP, we can plan a trip in advance by setting a predicted starting SOC (before charging) and also ask for an arrival SOC, something Google can't do.
ОтветитьIs this using some kind of built in mobile data in the car? If so is there some kind of annual cost for this?
ОтветитьMode button
ОтветитьThere is night mode in settings, at least on mobile anyway
ОтветитьThanks for the review Bjorn.
Question: Does the system work with voice commands? Like can the driver tell the system to re-route the trip by voice? Maybe not BRP, but I'm assuming it's possible at least with google maps? Don't know for sure.
abc...always be route planning. "Very nice. I like!" 😁
ОтветитьNo food tasting footage? :( I am disappointed ...
ОтветитьGreat review. I love ABRP. Do you think the integration will make its way to the Volvo XC40 Recharge P8 or the C40 Recharge?
ОтветитьParking app👍 now we are talking. i use that often but using my phone.
ОтветитьYou don't need Premium to connect ABRP with your car for live data.
ОтветитьThe autosteer hugs the right side on my Volvo V90 Cross Country as well
ОтветитьOn a sidenote ABRP will be available on Android Auto very soon, It's in beta right now, Google have opened up for more apps to be used on android auto :)
ОтветитьABRP shines as a pre-planner...just like marking routes on a physical OS map. It gives a great estimation of how different cars will fair on the same journey, and I like the way it’s slightly conservative. You can stick in a load of parameters such as wind speed, driving style, battery degradation etc, that may affect your journey.
No point in having it in the Tesla, but used as a planner, you can check out, off-the-beaten-track chargers other than Tesla’s, if you like to keep topped up adventuring.
Can you plan your route on your phone, and shere with the car in Polestar?
ОтветитьIn Google you can change destination by voice command.
ОтветитьSoon a new Cellange is Coming the New Mercedes Benz S class. I hope you can test this also....
ОтветитьI wonder if Tesla could implement an Android subsystem in their MCU in order to support custom apps. Perhaps using Android-x86, Bluestacks, or similar. They could do their own Tesla App Store to curate the available apps, but by using Android, it would be easy for developers to port existing apps to Tesla.
ОтветитьWhat are the speed parameters in the ABRP ? Perhaps the estimation is made with 5% other the speed limit !
ОтветитьA. Better routeplanner has "waypoint" Tesla has no waypoints.
ОтветитьThanks for a great overview 👍🏻
Ответитьyou can use torque and evnotify as data source for abrp. So you can use live data in the koreans and ID-Family too.
ОтветитьABRP is also available in android auto if you switch to beta. But you have to use an alternative live data source (like torque or evnotify)
ОтветитьAny car with the ability to install apps has a big advantage over Tesla.
Everything is so limited and locked down on Tesla that Apple is already jealous.
Google may be more conservative about the estimated time for trips in an effort to reduce speeding. They may be thinking that if the driver arrives at the estimated time then the driver will be thrilled that he or she either made it on time or earlier than expected.
ОтветитьNice review. And on a side note, that blue wrap on the Polestar definitely makes it look fantastic.
ОтветитьI’d actually rather a prediction to the low side. If the actual is 58% I’d prefer a 54% prediction than a 59% prediction, even though the 59% guess is closer.
ОтветитьNothing a little update can't help
ОтветитьHopefully ABRP will implement in a similar way with carplay, it needs a bit of work still on carplay.
Ответить@teslabjorn I would be quite interested in comparing the charge planning capabilities of both apps over long distances. I have found ABRP far superior compared to other alternatives in selecting the right charge stations (though not always perfect, but it is noticeable that Bo & team put big efforts in priorising the various networks and charger options). I wonder if Google is as smart. And also if you can manually select or blacklist specific networks. Quite useful here in France and Spain where not all HPC stations work well...
ОтветитьI have EasyPark in my Taycan with Apple CarPlay. Hate that I have to use an iPhone, but Android suck with Taycan. :/
ОтветитьThat was a very informative video. I have tried in earnest on a couple occasions to use ABRP in the Tesla browser (MCU2) and the interface features were confusing and inaccurate. I reported problems I had but never received a resolution. In any event, I love that there is EV competition in multiple facets as that will improve all the cars including Tesla. Good for owners of all EVs.
ОтветитьCan you do this test on ID4 / Skoda Enyaq? On board navigation vs ABRP when it comes to estimated consumption?
ОтветитьCabin is quite noisy?
ОтветитьSo basically everything sucks except Apple CarPlay. Got it.
ОтветитьSo it should work with the Volvo XC40 PE Recharge aswell? Since its the same system? Can anyone confirm?
ОтветитьThanks for another great video. I’m not to impressed with abrp but use it for tronity data support as the Zoe ze50 obd2 port is in a crap place . But don’t use it for navigation I use waze on apple car play but have abrp on my iPhone to keep a eye on the estimated range at destination . When they use live charger info for both pulse and Instavolt and stop doing silly things like go out your way to charge for 3-4 mins instead of saying slow down a few mph . And since last update the screen goes back to navigate and hides range estimate even if you select detailed info etc like it use to say on what you set it . Sort these bugs out and mite subscribe to premium !
ОтветитьM/D/Y in the app? Must be confusing for anyone outside of the US! Either that or you're reporting from the future!
ОтветитьIs the ability to see % charge on Google maps a polestar thing ? Can you see this in android Auto in some way ?
ОтветитьI've tried to like ABRP, but the UI is just a bit too quirky and weird and frustrating.
ОтветитьSometimes your remind me Heath Ledger speaking (Dark Night ), but anyway cool that custom apps are coming and now with the API from volvo opened (take that tesla and company) more apps will come
ОтветитьUnfortunately ABRP will only run and send data to the app while the infotainment system is running. If you leave the car while charging, the infotainment system shuts down after a few minutes and you lose the connection. Currently there's no way (even with ABRP) to monitor the car's charging remotely :(.
ОтветитьI used ABRP to navigate 800km to East-Germany. Not a fan. Especially when you start using it with Premium and across different platforms, settings are not automatically copied which is a major concern for say, your charger network selection.
Also, on more than one occassion it simply blanked out and I've had to restart route calculation whilst driving. Not sure this is the app to blame as every time it happened Spotify would cut out as well, as if the Internet connection was temporarily lost.
Finally, it's slow. Responsetime to a button press is typically a few seconds, route calculation is slow.
My P2 is 4 weeks old, latest software.
very good.....thanks from portugal
ОтветитьWould be neat if ABRP added Battery temperature graph to that charging detail as well.
ОтветитьIs the battery charging data available on premium or non-premium ?
Ответитьgoogle maps already does this
ОтветитьOCTOBER 2024, and there are still heaps of bugs.
