Queen Elizabeth is responsible for stiffening the king's spine.
ОтветитьKIng George VI was the right man for a critical time in UK/World's history. His brother was weak, self absorbed, immature and thus unable to take the reigns when called upon to do so. God bless King George VI!
ОтветитьMy opinion is twisted on this one. Yes he was a good king because he worked well with Churchill, ans wasn't Edward. But a kings job even then was morale support. How hard is it to publicly declare you are doing the same as the people ?
ОтветитьIt was a very good thing that George became King. God puts you where he needs you! King George was brave and courageous to step up and fill that role.
ОтветитьMe gustaría oírlo en Español
ОтветитьEdward would have given England to Germany with a smile. Because he would have been easily manipulated by Hitler, and he has shown through his actions, always took the path of least resistance.
God bless the great King Bertie.

ОтветитьExtraordinary Monarch, along with Queen Elizabeth II.
ОтветитьI am American however Bertie is one of my favorite kings In British history

ОтветитьThe Mother Queen took a shy man for a husband and, altough was not the plan, groomed a great King

ОтветитьMakes me smile when they call a mansion a 'cottage' anyone would love a 'cottage ' as big.
ОтветитьGreatness isn’t always obvious. George VI was right for the time.
ОтветитьGee, France declares war on Germany and then gets invaded. How strange.😱
ОтветитьThe world would have been so much different and worst if the traitor king remained. King George VI saved the world.
ОтветитьIt was great he became King from him beautiful Queen Elizabeth!!
ОтветитьYou be shocked that l, to this day in some places, left handed people are still forced to use their right hand...
ОтветитьAs an American, much respect. A true King of prestige.
ОтветитьEveryone having an argument on here about who won the war? It's obvious, the Soviet Union won the war
ОтветитьHe had a right 2b reluctant. You could noit have picked a more unsuitable person. He always came over as weak and pathetic. Then again have a look at his parents.
ОтветитьThank you for the info. King George is my 10th cousin, twice removed. Nice to learn about him.
ОтветитьPRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY FOR king George who managed beautifully and honorably for many years through a difficult war AMEN AND AMEN
ОтветитьYes we can thank Wallis Simpson ❤❤🥰👍❤🙏❤🥰
ОтветитьHe did one helluva job. The best king England could have had during the war years.
ОтветитьHappiest of Birthdays to King George VI!
ОтветитьI am currently reading The Reluctant King: The Life & Reign of George VI by Sarah Bradford (1989). Very good book. I never realized the staggering wealth of the royal family.
ОтветитьFascism is from the left, not the right. Leftist academics who supported fascism incorrectly placed it on the right after WWII.
ОтветитьWonderful man!!!!!!!❤
ОтветитьThumbs down for excessive commercials merits
ОтветитьThose guys use to have black skins in the 1990s and use to take turns pretending Michael Jordan on tv
ОтветитьYes indeedI greatly admire his service to the war effort, his country and the world. I'm thankful that God put him there at that time.
ОтветитьWatching 2025 ❤
ОтветитьElon musk did nazi salutes at trumps inauguration and trump supporters cheered. WTH
Ответить"King George VI - The Reluctant King"... Yes, tell us he wished to be a pauper!
ОтветитьWINSTON CHURCHILL WAS IN CHARGE, NOT THE KING.HE WAS ONLY A FIGURE HEAD.BRAVO TO WINSTON.MARIE IN FRANCE
ОтветитьEDWARD WAS NOT THROWN OUT AS KING, HE STOOD UP FOR THE WOMAN HE LOVED,I COMMEND HIM FOR HOW MANY MEN WOULD.MARIE
ОтветитьThe names get so confusing.
ОтветитьDobbiamo ringraziare Wallis...che in futuro Elisabetta e diventata Regina.........
ОтветитьGeorge VI and his family were a great inspiration during WWII. He earned the love and respect from his subjects due to his dedication and genuine care. My mother was a Londoner. Her home was damaged in the Blitz. Later she served in the WAAF. She was 'demobbed' in 1946 and immigrated to Canada as a warbride. When I was a very small child, she had a little radio that was often on when she was working in the kitchen. I remember her crying when the King's death was announced on the CBC — one of my first memories in life. There was nothing phoney or silly about how people felt about their monarch. They knew well the struggles and challenges he faced after his brother Edward VIII abdicated.
ОтветитьEngland had a chance under George VI - not so under Edward VIII. I believe Edward VIII would have given up Britain on a silver platter to Hitler. George VI was an awesome leader - the kind Britain needed at the time.
ОтветитьOne of England's best ever kings 🤴👊🏻
ОтветитьThe 19th century sounds like a dandy time to be a child & student
