im an english speaking english person living in england why do i keep watching your videos i never plan on even going to korea lol.

I want the American guy's shoulders! Such great stature and posture. The Australian guy's hair is pretty suave and I like the English guy's attitude and accent.

I'm from Indonesia. Live in Bali. As an Asian people exactly South East Asian people. Listening learning English is so important. For South East Asian people, American English pronunciation is easier to listen than British English pronunciation. I have to listen again and again carefuly for British English pronunciation. Coz of r and t and ch and th pronunciation is different between British and American English. But it's so interesting for me. British English is unique and American English is cool. Love both of them

I remember the first time I could watch my favorite sopa opera Days of our lives without subs I couldn't believe my eyes I was so into the story that I realised I did not need subs to understand everything. A hard work has its payoff

Hi , Very informative Video. I learned to speak Korean by only watching dramas . I know to read and write as well . Best tip is to practice with friends. My Korean improved a lot when i started practicing with my Korean friends in India.

For korean I'm now at the stage where I just watch k-dramas for enjoyment 🤣 (oops!)
I studied Japanese only after like 3-4 years of watching English-subbed Japanese variety shows for entertainment. After 4 years suddenly I realized I sorta understand what they're saying even without subtitles, and after that I bought a basic grammar book and also studied by trying to translate magazine articles (or just a paragraph), because that way you would focus on the sentences structures (comparing it to the theory on the grammar book) and each words' meaning plus getting familiar with the kanji writing at the same time. It was rather unconventional but since it was never my intention to actually master the language, it became sort of a bonus 😅

As for learning English, my sister and I watched a lot of English-language videos since we were relatively young, like Sesame Streets, or my dad would buy VHS tapes of Disney movies and we would watch it over and over (oh no I'm revealing my age 🤣). As a teenager, aside from the English lessons from school, I continued studying from dissecting music lyrics and reading Bloomsberry version of Harry Potter books 🤣 (this was when I started being aware of British and American English slight differences, because our school curriculum tended to lean toward the American one I think). For both languages I'd like to think I'm still learning even until now, because there's always new interesting things to discover as the language also evolves all over the world.

It's also what got me hooked to your content in the beginning, because you introduce a variety of English from various parts of the world. You all teaching Korean language/culture is a bonus for me. Who knows I'll be interested in learning Korean after a while! 😄

Maybe that's the reason why my listening is not that well right now, I keep looking at videos, movies, etc. and always have the need of subtitles. But it's hard not to use them. But, really useful tips!!

These are really good advice! I like how Chantelle insisted on the 5 words "A WEEK".
It's such a good advice, but so few people try to do that..
I personally feel that using those methods have helped me improve my listening in Japanese and English over the years. Sure, you don't feel the results just in a week or two, but eventually you will come to realise that your listening has improved a LOT because you've kept at it! :)

first of all thank u guys for this video...& it helped me lot for improving my listening skill cause I'm not from one of these countries....but I have a problem and I need suggestion that sometimes it becomes really hard for me to understand British language....I do really love british people and the language but sometimes I can't understand what they are saying...it's very quick...so now what should I do???? plz help me....btw I love your videos and the topics....love u guys♥
