Watching this and reading the book every so often because my husband reminds me so much of Noah's character. A very grounded dependable and hopless romantic who loves reading with me at night. I am definitely an Ally and unpredictable and artistic and need his stability and temperament. My parents were so mean to him in the beginning because he came from a rough family and thought he would hold me back. They tried to keep us from seeing each other. We were 19 then and have been together ever since. 13 years this December. My parents eventually apologized for judging him and now we are a family of 3 with our little boy ❤ our sons birthday is the day we met.

The boating scene is perfectly directed and scored. Ally’s simple act of trying to cover her hair with the dish towel and then letting it go when the thundershower comes, perfectly symbolizes her shedding all pretense and societal / parental expectations. As the downpour washes all that away, her true self emerges and she is free.

You always leave where you left off ....that's how strong love is.

2024. Just watched this and loved the cinematography.

I used to love this movie but now I think it normalizes cheating and I hate both of the characters for it.

This is truly my favorite movie.I still have hope. Waiting on my Noah. He truly loved her and made all her wishes came true.

I love romances, and I remember seeing this for the first time. I wasn't that into the first half of the movie. They both were kids and acted like it. He was super aggressive with her and it only worked because she found him attractive. Regardless, the strength of the movie is here, after she came back to him. This scene is iconic.

Romantic relationships are not a beautiful thing. Romance causes a lot of problems in this world. Life is a lot better without romance than it is with it. Romantic love is not special at all, and I think that the romantic type of love isn't real.

More than half of romantic relationships end in a breakup/divorce. Romantic relationships are objectively very prone to failure. And most couples who are still together are usually not happy being together.

Also, there are a lot of toxic romantic relationships. Like an example is that abuse happens a lot in romantic relationships.

This world would be a much better place if there was no romance. Everything would be much better if everyone stopped dating and getting married. Romance is a bad thing.

It's like the rain washed away her hesitation and she confronted him. But she didn't expect him to answer like he did. Which in turn unlocked her love for him again.

Fun fact: the actors filmed the boat scene separately because they just hated each other in real life. Thats why we don't really see them together talking at the same time
Oh and than after the kiss in the rain, the actors actually fell in love in real life and dated for a few years!

She is one of the few women I think that’s as beautiful as Margot Robbie.
