Trying to Style Fashion Trends I HATE

I thought the last outfit was really cute, even though butteryellow is not really my colour either. But it made me think of the nanny from the parent trap, so thats a win! 😎

The butter yellow outfit makes you look like Chessy from the parent trap so immediately cool

color trends can really be hit or miss depending on the undertone of your skin… i always end up passing on the current spring/summer pastel (butter yellow atm) bc i just feel like pastels make me look so jaundiced and sallow 💀💀💀

re: micro shorts and body diversity… to me it seems like one of those trends where the clothes are only disguising the ACTUAL thing the model wants to show off, which is super thinness/thigh gap/pro ana or whatever u want to call it. same way those pics of only thigh highs w skater skirts on 2012 tumblr were really only abt the aspriarion and glorification of thinness all along. might be a reach but idk

I think in your polka-dotted look, the lines of the harness are competing with the white lines on the dress, and the underskirt is a good idea but ultimately not adding much. I think it would work with a different (but still polkadot) dress!

I'm totally shocked in the first minute: burgundy is my favourite colour for clothes.
I volunteer at a kind of charity shop (we're getting donations and giving them away for free, so that stuff gets a longer life) and even our regular customers tend to hand me all the burgundy clothes, because it has become my signature colour 🤣

I think I wore too much polka dots in the mid 2000s, probably several decades need to pass before I can style them again ⚫⚪⚫⚪

If you have wide shoulders you might be a flamboyant natural (kibbe body types) and especially for that body types off the shoulder tops are so flattering! I think your shoulders look so elegant and the top looked beautiful on you😊

this is SO nitpicky but burgundy and oxblood are very different!! I love oxblood and hate burgundy. Oxblood I would consider a warm toned red. And the dress you have is a beautiful color but a much brighter red than the trend!

The chunky black shoes with white socks kind of ruin the potential of some of these outfits.

Suggestion for the office siren outfit: Lose the shirt and then do up the blazer. Maybe with a nice bralette. Obviously thats a lot more daring and a lot more skin showing, so only if youre comfortable of course.

I'm not a fan of most of these trends. Her style tends to rely on boyfriend jeans, overalls and an awkward length of skirt. I prefer skinny jeans still so, every outfit felt like an itch I can't scratch.

For me, the bag wasn't the problem (polka dot outfit), but the boots. Too chunky. Something slimmer might have worked better ❤

The off the shoulder red top (first you look stunning either way you shoulder width is fine 🤣 I don’t see what your talking about!) but the off the shoulders seems like an out for that’s trying too hard. The shoulder up looked sooo cute!!! Like girl you need to make that a go to outfit! I see you wearing that out walking a boardwalk or early dinner outfit idk. So cute!

If you press the giant cuffs on the overalls with an iron, you might like it better. It will take away the poofiness and make it look sleeker and more intentional.

The problem with the off the shoulder top is the top not the off the shoulder part

One minute in and I completely agree with you about the burgundy colour. It’s a beautiful colour and I admire it on others but it was so overdone when I was in high school/early uni (think tumblr era and blanket scarves) and even back then I just got this visceral ick whenever I wore it. It’s just not for me!

Can I just say that you are helping me style things I normally never would, and also accepting putting my hair in different ways - I used to think I looked ugly with head accessories on or my ears showing and your styling has really helped me overcome that!! ❤

The off shoulder look is giving 1830s - you and I have the same broad, wide shoulders and the girlies in the 1830s would have killed for these puppies 😂

I think the leopard print shirt would be cool styled OVER the red sweater. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m such a slut for tanks over long sleeve shirts

Yea... I'm not really one for trends anyway, but definitely passing on the butter yellow. I don't have any yellow in my wardrobe at all

For office siren, what about ditching the long sleeve top, buttoning the blazer, and putting the harness over it? I also feel like heels/sandals instead of the boots would also lighten this up and give the skirt its moment.

As a broad shoulder small hip girly myself, I LOVE off shoulder tops because I feel like it makes my WAIST look smaller compared to the shoulders!
(Though I do like my broad superwoman looking shoulders to begin with☺️)

Mean librarian look tip - use your skirt as a dress and (maybe) belt it possibly to create shape and sexy appeal

I do the giant cuff to get my jeans to a normal length because they’re all just wayyyy too long on me, and I think it looks best with a super wide leg!
