I'm an American in Iran, and oliviyeh is very popular here. I wonder whether it was brought by the Russian troops in WW1, or whether it was here before.

What I wonder about is the herb that you added to the complete potato salad. We can use different herbs for this and I just wonder which herb that you added. I also wonder what you might recommend for a substitute for the mayo. Maybe plain yogurt would be just as good while being lower in saturated fat. After all, some people, including myself, are born with problems of triglycerides, as well as cholesterol..
