Is it common in your area to use cpvc in a new build? It’s not so common here in Indiana. PEX and/or copper usually. I know there’s nothing wrong with cpvc, but I always cringe a little when I see it used….only because I’ve seen it get brittle over time and shatter when trying to cut it for repairs.

So the white wire is used as a hot wire and would be wired onto the other side of a double pole breaker? The nuetral is not used?

Hey Josh, great video! Do you recommend that Easton drain pan and you find it to be sturdy enough? I bought a cheap aluminum one at Lowe’s and regret my decision as it easily bends and breaks. Thank you.

Where I'm from, (IPC)...if you're using an expansion tank, it now has to be properly mounted/strapped to a proper mounting bracket on a wall or otherwise approved support structure. The brass tank tee is no longer acceptable as proper support. UPC doesn't seem to address this beyond following manufacturer's instructions.

Good video! Would like to see a video on changing out the anode rod. Maybe from a magnesium, aluminum, or zinc to an electric anode. Thanks

Clean install, just not professional because of the pvc, Strapping & push to connect fittings

I would call this video "Installing a water heater with all the options." I added a 1/4-inch on/off valve fitting to the cold water line, which provides water for my refrigerator's ice maker.

That 'tank booster' allows you to crank up the temperature inside the water tank from, say 120F to 150F.
You can take more showers without running out because less water will come from the tank since it will be 'tempered' with cold water to give you 120F.
Pretty ingenious idea.

Thank you for the detailed video. The dilemma i have is regarding the water heater itself. Buying a builder grade water heater from a big box store means a lower quality product, with higher likelihood of an issue popping up early and having to deal with the manufacturer to get a replacement under warranty. If you want a pro grade product, forget DIY, your only option is to get it professionally installed and pay a lot more but if something goes wrong they come and fix it. My understanding is that you can purchase a professional grade water heater from a plumbing store, but the moment you install it yourself, you void the manufacturer warranty since you are not a certified contractor.
