This has to be the most pessimistic view of Reagan… this guy absolutely hates conservatives

Carter will forever be my favorite president. He’s a great, nice guy. When he was fit he would shake everyone’s hand at his church and take a picture with ‘em. Also as a Georgia boy I’m a little biased.

In all honesty the hostages weren't getting released if Carter won. Not right away that is. Iranians knew the gig was up when Reagan won.

Fun fact: This was the first time a Democrat incumbent lost reelection to a challenger of another party and not get reelected since Martin Van Buren in the 1840 election 140 years prior. For those about to reply “Well Acktually” to my comment, please look below.

James K. Polk: Did not run in 1848
Franklin Pierce: Lost the primary in 1856
James Buchanan: Lost the primary in 1860
Andrew Johnson: Served a partial term and lost the primary in 1868
Grover Cleveland: Did lose to a challenger in 1888 BUT got reelected in 1892
Harry S. Truman: Dropped out of the primary in 1952
Lyndon B. Johnson: Dropped out of the primary in 1968

Yeaaaaaaah, the Carter Administration did all the work. Had nothing to do with the hostages being held for over a year and "coincidently" released them on inauguration day.

Please correct your visual map. In 1980 Republicans were blue, and Democrats were red.

It was not until 1984 that they did the great switch. Democrats were blue, and Republicans were red.

Reagan sabotaged the negotiations. Even then, Carter didn’t contest the results. That’s what a real leader does and what makes Carter the greatest man to hold the office of the presidency.

Good Video, as usual, Mr. Beat. This was the first Presidential Election/Election I voted in (I voted for Jimmy Carter, which started me choosing Losers, except for Bill Clinton). The Anderson Candidacy is said to have been A Bigger Hirt to Jimmy Carter, even though he, as you said, was A Republican
