a really great show indeed
Ответитьgreat show I preordered
ОтветитьI had heard a little about NES, but knew nothing of the history and background of the company prior to this interview. I plan to purchase Jaws of Victory soon. Thank you for this.
ОтветитьI was able to zoom map. Nice
ОтветитьWell done, and thanks, I've all the NES games, and been waiting for this a long time, with the large footprint, I just hope on a lot of one or two map scenarios. Ordered my copy yesterday.
ОтветитьEric, once again a great show. Sorry I missed the live showing, but I do want to echo the comments on Mark's/NES's great job with Jaws of Victory. It's an awesome game with incredible production value. I too have been waiting for years for Winter's Victory and I can't wait for my copy to arrive this summer.
Ответитьvery interesting, I have the game on pre-order.
ОтветитьSkirmish and Broadsides! I played a LOT of Broadsides when I was a kid. Nice interview gentlemen. Mark's work is The Best! I have WV on pre-order too. Looking forward to it.
ОтветитьIn case viewers would like the full reference to the book Mr Hinkle mentioned:
"Crisis In The Snows: Russia Confronts Napoleon, The Eylau Campaign 1806-1807" by James R. Arnold & Ralph R. Reinertsen.
"Napoleon on the Danube" & "Dresden" are two of my favorite Napoleonic games. Fun system.
ОтветитьThe Killing Ground/Overlord is brilliant. It captures the Normandy campaign in a depth and breadth nothing else matches, including, IMO, any books. The terrain/ZOC effects on combat brilliantly capture the nature of the battlefield and the difficulties both of the famous bocage and the less famous interlocking fields of fire that dominated in the east.
ОтветитьVery nice and informative interview. Nice to finally hear Mark speak on his designs. Especially interested in 'On Hell's Highway' which, as a longtime fan of John's original design, would enjoy helping with regarding playtesting.
ОтветитьGreat video. Great-looking game. I hope people take note of the fact that I was only 27 years old when I designed Wellington's Victory and it was just the second game I designed, for SPI. We were really rushed into battle in 1975. No excuses for my early work. But, like all designers, I wish I could be 27 again and redesign the system knowing what I've learned in the past 48 years!
ОтветитьI really enjoyed the interview. I noted that Mr. Hinkle has a copy of Hussy‘s two volume Waterloo history. Great resource! Looking forward to getting my copy of Winter‘s Victory!
ОтветитьNES should release a 2024/5 version of Wellington's Victory with all the graphic glory and rule modifications of Winter's Victory.
ОтветитьGot my game today What a game😄
ОтветитьReally great job.. thanks.. just bought the game lol
